Responsive Space Launch
What is Responsive space launch you ask?
Responsive space is a catchphrase for rapid access to commercial launch vehicles that can be rapidly integrated with payloads and launched during a conflict or a crisis to replace a damaged satellite or augment existing constellations. That is super exciting and long a goal for all those in the space industry.
There's also another phrase "20 years to deliver a capability" within the US military, specifically space acquisition. A reference to the 20 years it took to field the operational GPS constellation and the career of a certain Lieutenant to Colonel during that time. In 2002 a very young, very keen, 2nd Lieutenant Rothman worked one of the first Responsive Space projects at AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate.
