11Residential Welcomes New EVP, Tom Daniels!

11Residential Welcomes New EVP, Tom Daniels!

This was an exciting week at 11Residential! Tom Daniels joined the team as Executive Vice President of Property Management as of November 7th, 2022.

We sat down with Tom this week to get to know him better and want to share what we learned.

With over 29 years of multifamily involvement within both real estate development as well as property operations, Tom offers a fresh perspective and extensive experience to 11Residential. He will work alongside the Executive Team while also overseeing everyday property management operations.

When asked what has kept him in this industry for this long, Tom stated “the people are what have kept me in this industry”. It is more than just owning and managing buildings to me, “it’s about caring about where people live” he added.

Over the past five years, Tom has been working at Seaview Investment Group. Alongside his co-founder, Dave Dynes, the two formed Seaview Investment Group with the goal of creating communities that residents can enjoy long-term, while also providing positive returns for investors. He is turning over everyday responsibilities to Dynes in order to transition into his new role with 11Residential.

Prior to his involvement with Seaview Investment Group, Tom spent time at other industry leading companies such as Trammell Crow, Greystar, Holland Residential, and Riverstone.

Tom grew up in the Seattle area, attended Washington State University, and spent five years in the US Airforce. He started his career in real estate right out of college and has been finding ways to create positive change in this industry ever since.

When it comes to real estate Tom has been in many different roles on the property level from leasing consultant to property manager and into corporate positions of Senior Vice President and Senior Managing Director.

The most valuable piece of advice he has received in this industry was back when he was a property manager. He was told that his training and growth is up to him, it’s not up to the organization. Tom stated, “Of course there is always training and opportunity, but we want people to be curious, and ask questions because they care, (not because we want them to)”.

Tom is looking forward to the future with 11Residential. In his words, “there is always going to be room for improvement”. He wants to focus on creating strong systems on all company levels, from each individual property to the corporate office.

Connecting all the moving pieces within a company is essential for growth and Tom is going to help 11Residential navigate that process.

Tom continues to challenge himself by remaining curious and striving for innovation. “Trying to avoid retreating back to how you’ve been doing something for the last 30 years is important” he added.

We asked what his advice to someone just starting in this industry would be and he stated, “Be curious, be open minded, work hard, and don’t be afraid to speak up and ask questions”.

11Residential is thrilled to have Tom join our organization and we are looking forward to the knowledge and leadership he will bring us. With his guidance, we will create positive change within the company as well as within our living communities.

Yolanda Armijo, EVP of Training and Organizational Development, has known Tom for years now. She shared, “His reputation is highly regarded, and we couldn’t be in a better position to move in a new direction with his leadership. We are going to find success in the future because of his presence here.”

Everyone has a unique perspective; this is just a small piece of Tom Daniels’ story. What is yours?
