UK Businesses put breaks on hiring

"The latest data from the world’s largest network of job boards, Broadbean Technology has shown that businesses have put hiring on hold as they consider cost-cutting solutions.

According to the networks’ figures vacancy numbers have dropped by 3 per cent between September and October 2022, and 12 per cent year-on-year."

UK manufacturers turn to digital technologies to escape recruitment and supply chain woes

"The 2022 Manufacturing Agility Assessment, which was launched on day one of Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool, painted a worrying picture of labour shortages and supply chain disruption, with 69% citing issues with sourcing materials and components."

Labour market overview, UK: November 2022

The UK employment rate for July to September 2022 was 75.5%, largely unchanged on the previous quarter and 1.1 percentage points lower than before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic (December 2019 to February 2020).

Over the latest three-month period, the number of employees decreased, while self-employed workers increased.

Flight Story has launched Flight Talent, a talent acquisition platform and community, specialising in hires for professions introduced by the ‘digital wave’.

"It will bridge the talent deficit, which is reported to be holding 70% of businesses back from keeping up with the pace of change."
