Meet Metcash Brand Ambassador, Wayde Pinyon

Wayde Pinyon is one of our Warehouse Supervisors in the Gepps Cross distribution centre in South Australia. From when he first joined the team as a assembler on the warehouse floor, he showed incredible promise as a future leader at Metcash. Over the past 5 years, Wayde has flourished in his career, first moving to working in dispatch, then becoming a team leader role, before stepping up into his supervisor role in the grocery department. One things for sure, Wayde is an incredible example of what a can-do attitude and a dedication to excellence can mean for career growth at Metcash.

"I always had ambitions to go move into a leadership position," said Wayde, "I've been very fortunate here in Gepps Cross to have had the support of not only my immediate leader but the whole extended leadership team to take my own career to the next level".

One of the most impressive things about Wayde's time in the distribution centre so far is the profound impact he has had on the operation. Always thinking bigger, Wayde has contributed to multiple initiatives that have improved processes and supported both the members of his team and the customers at the end of the supply chain.

"One thing I've been really proud of is the role I played in rolling out a new obstacle course that has helped new starters develop their skills whilst driving electronic pallet jacks", he said. But it's not only safety that Wayde has made his mark on, he is also a bright mind on the floor bringing suggestions from himself and his team that help us challenge the status quo and continue to evolve.
