HOPE is now an official partner of 1% for the Planet

Friends of HOPE Inc. is thrilled to announce that it has joined 1% for the Planet as an official non-profit partner. This nonprofit membership makes the company eligible for funding opportunities, volunteer time, donations, and other forms of promotion from the organization’s global network.

Founded in 2002, 1% for the Planet is an alliance of businesses, individuals, and organizations that are all united in the purpose of tackling the planet’s most pressing issues. Through partnership advising, impact storytelling, and third-party certification, 1% for the Planet makes it easy for businesses and individuals to work together and give back to the environment. To date, the network’s members have invested a total of $268 million in environmental nonprofits.

“At HOPE, we’re always looking for market-based and sustainable solutions to tackle the most critical issues faced by our planet,” says Ilusion Farias, Managing Director of Friends of HOPE, Inc. “We feel that 1% for The Planet is very aligned with our mission. We are excited about joining this network and the work we can all do together for the world.”  

Friends of HOPE Inc. has been driving impact across its portfolio of projects that aim to uplift the lives of underserved Filipino communities. To date, the company has enabled 119 classroom builds, reached 23,591 students, supported 17,584 farmers, reduced 9,751 tonnes of carbon, and diverted 216,455 kg of plastic waste from nature through its Aling Tindera waste-to-cash program.
