“Covid -19 " The future, It comes one day at a time.

“I believe that the best way to prepare for a Future Life is to be kind, live one day at a time, and do the work you can do best, doing it as well as you can.”While the full economic effects from the virus remain uncertain, the spread of the virus worldwide has broadened, and the whole world has announced stricter mitigation measures to slow the spread of the virus, which is having a significant economic impact. With Covid -19 current situation most employers are asking their employees to work from home and observe social distance.

Ways to stay positive

Look after yourself Please do what it takes to care for your body and mind i.e. yoga, walking. You could also read a book about a new topic or circle back to that online course that you never finished.

Re Conceptualize on your Projects you might want to use this time to dust off the files and figure out whether what you have is, in fact, publishable.

Work online Consider devoting time to a bit of marketing. i.e. creating or updating your personal website, setting up a twitter account, updating your LinkedIn profile, writing articles, creating You tube informative video this might be the perfect time to wiggle your way out from underneath the rock you’ve been living under and find new avenues for connecting with other researchers and sharing your work.

Apply for funding Take a look around for industry awards and little pots of research funding that you might be able to apply for. Even if you don’t receive an award, the process of applying will help you master the skill of grant writing.

Work on your career plans consider using some of your home bound time to learn more about yourself and your career options. You could read a book about career planning, test out career options This will help you reflect on the skills you have, brainstorm skills you’d like to develop, and think about where you see yourself headed in the future.

Focus on E communication If you have a few ideas about jobs that might interest you, then take this time to reach out to professionals who currently hold those jobs. In the midst of a pandemic, it’s not appropriate to ask them to meet up for coffee. But you can ask them for a quick phone call or Skype chat. The reality is that the people whom you’d like to speak with may be working from home too. What’s more, they might be itching for more social contact. So, informational interviews could be a good way to break isolation, learn about someone’s career, and build a network, while still keeping a distance.

Be kind to Everyone If you live with others, being cooped up with them full time might be less fun than you imagined it to be. Channel your frustrations into something harmless.

Enjoy yourself Close your eyes and think back and reflect on things that were giving you joy? Could be a hobby focus on doing something that will bring you joy—or, at the very least, alleviate some stress?

The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs

No alt text provided for this image

A man and his wife owned a very special goose. Every day the goose would lay a golden egg, which made the couple very rich. Just think," said the man's wife, "If we could have all the golden eggs that are inside the goose, we could be richer much faster. "You're right," said her husband, "We wouldn't have to wait for the goose to lay her egg every day."  So, the couple killed the goose and cut her open, only to find that she was just like every other goose. She had no golden eggs inside of her at all, and they had no more golden eggs.

Moral of the story: Have patience with all things

No matter how difficult your situation is, you can get through it if you don’t look too far into the future, and focus on the present moment. You can get through anything one day at a time..

*Kindly help others to get there! While you’re at it, fix up your own! It’s an incredibly turbulent time for most of us. Take care of yourself and others, and remember to wash your hands!

Nice post-Njeri, the other moral of the goose story is that I have to look after myself (the Goose) to keep living, producing, and healthy physically and mentally (to produce golden eggs). Be Safe everyone

Very enlightening and positive advice for the difficult conditions that we are all undergoing. Positive thinking is the best way to supersede the stressful health precautions we all have to follow. We need similar alternative proposals for our free time. Congratulations.
