Celebrating Pride Month: Team Reflections

Andersen is proud to support its LGBTQ+ employees, allies, and friends across our team and in our communities. As we celebrate Pride Month, it's the perfect time to reflect on the unique experiences and perspectives within our own team.

Pride Month for me is a great time to reflect on how far we’ve come; I am able to be open and out at work, home, and ‘mostly’ everywhere in-between! It is also a great time to focus allies on the short-comings of where we are today; the last several years it feels like the time to address the bigotry and targeting of our trans siblings. It’s the time to address issues when they arise or in opportunities like this (quick thanks to Andersen Corporation for boosting our voices) to encourage allies-to-be to question their beliefs or understanding of a topic; or at the very least question their actions and ask first for compassion to treat people kindly.”

It is a platform for communities and organizations to show support for the queer community, and a vital moment to center plans within these spheres to protect what we are celebrating and never lose what our predecessors sacrificed to gain.”
