Bridging The Gap
My recent trip to the UK as part of the Chinese President's UK trade visit for the launch of our latest fund, the Access Asia Fund, was my first in a long while, so it was good to see what has changed, and what has stayed the same.
Travelers on London's subway system, the Tube, will be familiar with the "Mind The Gap" announcements, warning people to beware of the gap between the trains and the platforms.
Many of the meetings in the UK I attended concerning China reminded me of that phrase, with surprisingly large gaps still between the perceptions, realties, and understanding of each others culture and economies.
Which is where our new fund comes in. Managed by Chinese and Europeans who have studied and worked internationally, it seeks to bridge the gap between the concerns and needs of the international technology providers, and the demands and opportunities of the Chinese market.
