❓ #DYK 21% of #DNS records point to content that doesn’t resolve? https://lnkd.in/d5799j8A 🚫 In our recent #subdomainmonitoring webinar, 50% of attendees said they don’t currently monitor for subdomain takeover. Are you one of them? CSC analyzed over 440K DNS records where we saw that many companies are susceptible to subdomain hijacking. DNS is the phonebook of the internet, and DNS records housekeeping is one of the worst managed tasks. Global businesses rely on the internet for everything—websites, email, authentication, VoIP, and more. It’s part of an organization’s external attack surface and needs to be continuously monitored for #cybercrime attacks and fraud. It’s a significant challenge for companies to account for all their digital assets, and recognize which ones are critical, functional, or redundant. It’s even more dire to look at thousands of CSC-managed domain portfolios seeing one in five DNS records are left in a state susceptible to #subdomainhijacking. Mitigate #cyberthreats with subdomain monitoring today. We recommend all companies adopt a subdomain monitoring solution that not only alerts you when changes to your DNS records are detected, but also provides you context so you can make informed decisions and take appropriate action to prevent a subdomain hijack.

Do you think 2 years of data monitoring for impacted AT&T customers is a fair appology for allowing your information to be exposed? (add your comment) So the AT&T breach just keeps on giving! Anyone who thinks large companies are immune to customer information being shared in some way, whatever way you want to describe it, is doing a disservice to customers. Your company plans on how to both protect data and how you respond and communicate when it goes public will determine your brands reputation in the long term. #Breach #NorthTXACP #cyber

When I thought I've seen it all, there's 23andME. Instead of admitting their security negligence they blame the victims of the data breach for reusing passwords. This is just scandalous, i have no other words for it. If you provide a service that processes such sensitive data it's your duty to protect them in every way you can. And yes in an ideal world people don't reuse passwords, but the world is not ideal, so accommodate for that in the design and implementation if your service. It's quite simple, yet so hard for many companies: If you get breached, own it, apologize and do better in the future. https://lnkd.in/eehzyptK #infosec

AT&T has recently disclosed a cybersecurity breach affecting nearly all of its cellular customers, including those using MVNOs like Cricket, Boost Mobile, and Consumer Cellular. The breach, involving data from May 2022 to October 2022, exposed phone numbers, call/text counts, and total call durations, but not the content of communications or personal identifiers. AT&T has since secured the breach point and is working with law enforcement, with one individual already apprehended. While the company believes the data isn't publicly available, it's a critical reminder for everyone to stay vigilant about cybersecurity. In early August, a massive data breach impacted millions of Americans, leaking sensitive information like Social Security numbers (SSNs), legal names, email addresses, and phone numbers. 🖥️ Anywhere from 30 million and 3 billion personal records may have been exposed. In the wake of the breach, we recommend you: - Consider freezing your credit - Monitor activity on your financial accounts - Sign up for fraud alerts - Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on every account - And more! At CMIT Solutions, we believe in a proactive approach to cybersecurity, taking action before a problem occurs rather than waiting until after the damage is done. 📲 732.708.4944
