Successful Test Flight of the ZD680 Drone and Deployment of CANSAT Satellite with Parachute!!! During this flight, we demonstrated the drone's capability to carry and deploy a CANSAT satellite as a payload. From a height of 70 to 80 meters, we released the satellite, which was attached to a parachute. Upon release, the parachute deployed perfectly, allowing the satellite to descend slowly and safely to the ground. This marks a significant milestone for aerial payload deployment and recovery. The precision and stability offered by the ZD680 with ArduPilot platform open up numerous possibilities for future applications, including remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and lightweight cargo delivery. As we continue to refine and expand the capabilities of our drone systems, I look forward to exploring innovative solutions in aerospace and UAV technologies that will further enhance industrial and research operations. This may seem like a common occurrence, but it's actually a Canadian first. Getting airworthiness approval to fly a military UAS in Canadian skies takes a lot of effort - not the least of which is demonstrating that your aircraft is safe to operate in the sky and above people. With 650,000 operational hours, Aerosonde leaps over that bar. Further Canadian UAVs has invested years into our operational capability starting first with commercial drones, and then graduating to military aircraft, working with both Transport Canada and DTAES.
