David and his father founded Soliant in 1992 right here in Atlanta, GA. Soliant serves school systems and hospitals by providing specialized clinicians to deliver care and therapy to students and patients. We don’t necessarily control the EVENT (Coveys’ circle of concern) but we can control our REACTION (circle of influence) which means we ALWAYS have some say over the final OUTCOME. I have historically referred to this as: Don’t be a D*ck (That’s the reaction. The event is “other people being d*cks”) I try to live by this, but very often I fail. I am excited to be talking about advanced manufacturing at the Bessemer Society event next Wednesday (24th April) in Sheffield. Advanced manufacturing is close to my heart, but also of vital importance to the UK. Manufacturing is export lead and one of the more productive sectors in the UK economy. Continuing to provide good quality healthcare, pensions and social security in a country with an aging population , means that the smaller fraction people in work need to be much more productive. Finance and other service industries are great, but are largely concentrated in the South East. Manufacturing is much more evenly spread across the country.
