Happy International Women's Day. What does inclusion for women leaders mean to me? As a single mum (shoutout to my single mum leaders out there), supporting women's inclusion in the workplace means: 1. Flexible working hours and vacation - we have a four-day working week and generous vacation and parental leave policies. We support our team to take wellness days and block the hours when they can't take calls. 2. Investing in young female leaders - I have a policy of taking every informational interview request I receive or if I can't, ensuring one of my senior colleagues takes it. I believe that my generosity in sharing time, contacts, and advice should increase in proportion to my career advancement. 3. Ensuring equity and transparency in pay - we know women tend to negotiate less than male colleagues. We make pay scales transparent internally and on job descriptions and conduct biannual equity checks to ensure no-one is paid less for equal work. Shoutout today to all the women and women-identifying people who are creating and advocating for more inclusive workplaces and supporting each other. International Women's Day was celebrated in Tiger style! These six dynamic individuals are truly transformational leaders. I have the honor of working directly with one of these inspirational women on a daily basis and it's been very enlightening and educational. My key learnings as a Woman in the Manufacturing sector include: 1. Execution, execution and execution! See one, do one and teach one. If you can talk the talk, you should be able to walk the walk, gracefully ofcourse and always in your safety boots😅 because safety and quality is none negotiable for us!! 2. Be kind to yourself and never compromise on your standards and wellbeing. 3. Give everyone a chance to show their capabilities and help guide them when needed. As we wrapped up our celebrations on International Women's Day on the 8th March , in line with the global theme of #InspireInclusion, we took a moment to recognise and celebrate some of the inspirational women at Tiger by allowing them to share their journeys, experiences, and lessons at webinar attended by men and women across our sites and offices. During the conversation, the main focus was on the importance of creating an environment that allows every voice to be heard, where all perspectives are valued, and every individual is empowered to reach their full potential. The participants emphasised the significance of bringing unique ideas, feeling heard and seen, and acknowledging that there is power in diversity we can all benefit from leveraging towards building more innovative and engaged teams. #TigerWomensNetwork #InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion
