This, this, and ALLLL this. 👏👏👏
Assistants are the future big wigs. You never know who’s going to suddenly be running things. These are the ones reading those cold entries and searching for new talent. These are the ones staying up late hours and ensuring the work be done so their bosses look good for those important meetings.
Someone once told me in my early days, you’re only as good as your assistant. It’s a partnership. You can tell when it’s a good one by how well they keep the flow moving of endless calls, emails and submissions. It is a rapport that is instinctual and unique. A team.
"To all of my agent's and manager's assistants. The people who answer my emails. Y'all are the real ones." - Ayo Edebiri while accepting her Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series.
This will probably be my favorite moment of the Golden Globes because Ayo KNOWS who does the work behind the scenes and who make everything happen.
So often the recognition goes ONLY to the leaders and executives but it's assistants, coordinators, associate managers and junior designers who put in the hours and deserve so much of the recognition.
Brava 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

Everyone wants to be seen. And recognized as an individual. Just watch small children before they are 'socialized'. In the clip below, 2024 Oscar winner Da'Vine Joy Randolph delivers an impassioned speech on the importance of having a strong sense of self-belief and a drive to express individuality.
Clearly, our individuality must be preserved in the face of the accelerated development of AI.
In March, we celebrate Albert Einstein's birthday. He made a major contribution to humanity while being hugely underestimated as an individual - at first.
March 14 (3.14) is noted as Pi Day - Pi being a mathematical term used in measuring circles and similar forms. The result being a constant number.
Humanity may be considered to be a dynamic - not a constant - within the circle of life. This dynamism is a gift. It allows us to be aware, choose and act. For the good of all.
It all starts with you. The individual.

I don't see this as a passing trend or a matter of fashion. The core issue here is depression, which seems to affect everyone, making drugs an increasingly accessible escape. Regardless of one's political or religious beliefs, it appears that in recent years, we've lost our moral footing. Consequently, people are seeking ways to mentally or physically flee their circumstances. Over the past two decades, Pakistan has lacked a unifying hero or a definitive standard for youth to look up to or admire.
From every perspective, political leaders are being disgraced, while spiritual leaders issue controversial fatwas or get involved in contentious issues. There's a distinct absence of grassroots efforts to support young people. What we urgently need to offer them is hope—because hope is the ultimate solution.
