A free daily puzzle game that tasks players with finding the link between four sets of four words, Connections can require out-of-the-box thinking to solve. But if you’ve found yourself stuck, have no fear – we’ve put hints and today’s Connections answers for February 09 below. Play your hits. It’s been a busy week with a lot of driving time. Finding "Thunderstruck" on the radio took me back to seeing AC/DC live in '88 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. And that got me thinking about concerts, hit songs, and business. At shows, familiar songs get the best reaction. People come for crowd-pleasers that trigger comfortable memories and fire up audience sing-alongs. So why are businesses & marketers always in such a rush to change their tune? They can’t wait to abandon their "greatest hits” - the products or messages that resonate most with customers. Then, they end up "thunderstruck” when customers start to drift away after changes to their favorite features. There's a lesson here: don't get bored with your own playlist and then hastily scrap what made you successful. Don’t be too cocky. It’s only because of Back in Black that I’m willing to tolerate Who Made Who. (AC/DC fans will get it). Like bands playing their classics, stay true to your core offerings. Deliver what your audience loves, and they'll keep coming back for more. Don’t get Thunderstruck. Play your greatest hits.

Shivers: To tune into your environment. The wind, the cars, the pollution that hangs in the air, they all call out to you with a message. These last couple of months, I have been hit with the revelation that perhaps I'm taking up way too many obligations. It has been real rough in terms of time-management, and I haven't found any of it to really sit down and do the thing that I want to do. For Shivers, this has been a real crucible that tested my patience for perfection. At the end of the day, I'm thankful that this one can finally rest, and that I can tackle a new idea with a fresh mindset. This skill was a complete enigma, and it should be! Shivers is the most poetic out of all the skills in the game. Shivers is the most reserved out of all them, but whenever they triggered throughout my playthrough, I always got mesmerized. This one was such a mystery that I had no idea how to approach it, nor any references to play off with. If anything this process really started with the ambience. I started with the ambience because I was binging on TWD Season 2 cut content, and more specifically, the cut main menu music for S2E5 "Better to Sleep." The desperation, the dread that oozes out of that track was what I wanted Shivers to revolve around. Often times, I start with the character, but this time, I wanted to start with the environment that they were in. From there, that's where I locked-in for this voice. Vocal doubling for depth, reverb to really expand into that infinite space, and some slight pitch-shifting to make it uncanny, and that's how I got down to Shivers. Truth be told, I'm not happy with the outcome because there is much more that I want to do with this skill, but with the frustration that I found within the last couple of months, I wanted this post to be a reprieve for me. At the very least, I can move on and one day, once I better understand the process of audio-production, will I return to this one. Till then, please enjoy.

New Post: ‘Alan Wake’ to remove David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ from soundtrack - https://lnkd.in/g65jZYkb - David Bowie‘s ‘Space Oddity’ is going to be removed from the soundtrack of Alan Wake and replaced with a new original song by Petri Alanko, ‘Strange Moons’. READ MORE: How Petri Alanko scored ‘Alan Wake 2’ with mayhem and miracles The official Alan Wake X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed that the iconic song by Daivd Bowie will be removed from the game’s Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG versions due to “changes in licensing.” This will only affect PC players, not those playing on console. The song plays over the game’s credits, closing off the experience. This update will only affect the original 2010 iteration of Alan Wake and won’t change anything on the Alan Wake Remastered version which came out in 2021. The update is comign September 10. Song licensing has affected video games before, with the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw having to change many of the songs used in the original game. Fans of the game have shared their thoughts under the announcement. “Awful. Video games should get the same treatment as film. All media within has to be preserved,” wrote Melee Games. “The video game industry is terrible with music licenses. I mean, you never see this happen with movies, where they come back and remove a song from a movie scene years later,” added another fan on X. It is possible to stop Steam games from updating by selecting the ‘only update this game when I launch it’ option from the game’s library page. You can then reorder the update or pause it in the download manager. You can currently stream the official Alan Wake 2 soundtrack if you’re a fan of the game’s original score. In other news, Baldur’s Gate 3 just got a new update that adds new evil ending cutscenes, improves split screen co-op play, and adds some new features for honour mode. New Post: Streamer climbs ‘Skyrim”s 7,000 steps in real-life - https://lnkd.in/gijk5ZyP - Streamer ShakeMistake used an incline treadmill and a phone app to manually walk up Skyrim‘s High Hrothgar using his actual legs. READ MORE: How Chrissy Costanza became video games’ go-to soundtrack queen The pilgrimage to High Hrothgar is an important part of Skyrim‘s story. The Dragonborn must answer the call of the Greybeards and make the treacherous climb up the 7,000 steps, fighting off the cold and a frost troll on their way up. To climb the steps in real life, ShakeMistake hooked up a phone app called Steplapp and used his incline treadmill. He found that when walking normally, it only took 2,500 real-life steps to climb the mountain. He then shrank his character down “as much as possible without messing up my walking animation”. With this method, it took around 8,000 steps. He reckons that if you account for parts of the journey on flat ground with no incline, this probably means there are around 7,000 in-game steps to take. View this post on Instagram A post shared by ShakeMistake (@shakemistake) One Redditor actually counted all the steps on the way to High Hrothgar and claims there are only 748. This doesn’t mean it takes that many in-game steps to reach the peak, but that’s how many stairs or stair-like objects are actually visible on the way up the mountain. This means the mountain should have been 10 times bigger than it is currently, but that would have made it tower above the rest of the Skyrim region. ShakeMistake’s next challenge is to swim around the island of Solstheim using his arms in a breast-stroke motion. It took him around one hour and 20 minutes to do this, again using a scaled-down character to make the distance travelled more realistic. In other news, video game composer Gareth Coker has just released a new version of the Ori And The Will Of The Wisps soundtrack to streaming services. It’s a stripped-back piano rendition of the songs from the original game.
