It's truly disheartening to hear about your intern student's experience. Terminating an internship without proper mediation or support is not only unfair but also counterproductive to the learning process. Interns are there to learn and gain valuable experience, not to be expected to troubleshoot complex issues beyond their level of expertise. It's crucial for companies to provide a supportive environment for interns to thrive and develop their skills. I hope this situation serves as a learning opportunity for the company to reassess their internship program and ensure that interns are treated with the fairness and respect they deserve. 👉 Recruiters should review policies, provide training, and clear expectations for interns. Promptly address issues, offer feedback, and advocate for fair treatment. Evaluate internship programs regularly for effectiveness. 👈
How disappointing to receive this message from my intern student. She was terminated from her internship for such a ridiculous reason and without mediation in such short notice. This message was given to my student on Friday (29th March). The manager requested to terminate my student internship on the next Monday (1st April). Companies should not expect a diploma internship student to do troubleshooting on your testing procedure and come out with a solution. They are there to learn and gain working experience and please be fair to them since they are not being paid as full time employees.

Treating interns with respect involves recognizing their value as individuals and professionals, regardless of their position within the organization. It means giving them opportunities to contribute meaningfully to projects and initiatives, rather than relegating them to menial tasks or busywork. Providing mentorship entails pairing interns with experienced employees who can offer guidance, advice, and support as they navigate their roles and develop their skills. This mentorship should be personalized to the intern's goals and interests, helping them grow both professionally and personally.

Few days back, some students expressed their concern to me about not receiving internship calls. It's essential to address this transparently. In the corporate world, selecting interns is a meticulous process due to the investment of time and resources required for training. To streamline this, we seek the best candidates who maintain high competency levels, stay updated with industry standards, prioritize skill and experience over monetary gains. The industry aims to offer competitive stipends, but candidates must demonstrate their worthiness. It's crucial to align with peers excelling in the industry and showcase unique qualities, innovation, and strong communication and presentation skills. With limited spots available, remember that every application competes with 1072 others. Stand out by embodying these qualities. All the very best, I am with you :) #Internship #CareerAdvice #ProfessionalDevelopment
