I feel conflicted about this redesign. Overall I think the small logo redesign where it’s just the v looks MUCH better than Verizon’s older small logo where they basically just made the word Verizon smaller. I think it looks really nice particularly when the thumbnail is square shaped for example on LinkedIn’s job posts. That said, I feel like looking at the full word logos side by side, I definitely prefer the older one. The older logos’ black text, red logo on the white background is clear and easy to read. The red bolded text on both the white and black backgrounds hurt my eyes. Would love to know your thoughts! #redesign #logo #branding #tech

So Verizon rebranded… And... Is it just me? Or are their stores ALWAYS empty… And there seems to be one every two miles? Essentially, the stores are low-traffic billboards. Which for a mobile communication business, just feels like a waste of cash. What if they took the money they’re ploughing into store leases… And truly embraced the idea of mobility? Issue with your broadband? They’ll be at your door in 15 minutes to fix it. Need a new phone? A rep could meet you at your favorite coffee shop, set it up, and have you on your way. Need something repaired? Mobile tech vans are already roaming your neighborhood to offer repairs, software updates, and technical support. Kinda like Verizon going Geek Squad on us all. Wouldn’t that be a more fitting manifestation of their positioning as a mobile business? Oh… And the rebrand? Ye, it’s cool. Works. Brighter… What do you think?

According to The Wall Street Journal, it was previously rumored that US Cellular’s business would be carved up between T-Mobile and Verizon to deter regulators from blocking the deal, but Verizon hasn’t yet announced anything related to US Cellular. Mid 2025 sounds like a long way off, but it's just around the corner! Are US Cellular customers excited to have coverage outside their typical "footprint?" Additional coverage is going to be a significant game-changer. Those who wanted to start service with us but couldn't due to living outside the footprint will finally be able to take advantage of great offers. Lawler, R., & Weatherbed, J. (2024, May 28). The verge. T-Mobile signs a $4.4 billion deal to buy most of US Cellular. https://www.theverge.com/

Let’s take a minute to remember that analysts formulate trends based upon results that companies report publicly, develop what they believe to be trends and then make assumptions for the rest of the industry. In this case, S&P Global got it wrong.
I had been thinking it was time to check in with the National Content & Technology Cooperative on its members' progress with offering #wireless MVNO services. But then, coincidentally, the analysts at S&P Global, led by Chris Mooney, CFA, put out a report this week, suggesting that small cable operators who get into the wireless business don’t have a very good chance of success. Jared Baumann with NCTC had some rebuttals to that. Fierce Network https://lnkd.in/g3h2fWMv

Rewinding to 2006, cruising to my junior prom, convertible top down, hair unmovable thanks to 30 pounds of LA Looks gel. At the time,Verizon was the telecom giant to beat. Me? I was ahead of the curve,T-Mobile flip phone in hand – ensuring my date hadn't bailed after catching sight of my suit. Today, T-Mobile isn't just the new telecom giant; it's setting the standard with unparalleled nationwide 5G and customer service that actually provides a service – no endless hold music or forms disappearing into the void. I've seen this firsthand, and it's not just marketing speak. Yes, I am in sales, but I’m also an average person who knows people don't want to be sold to. Please reach out if you have questions about the business solutions that T-Mobile For Business offers or if your considering transferring carriers. I promise talking to me won't be as painful as my fashion in 2006. #tmobileforbusiness #telecommunications #fashion Photo Credit 📸-Nana

Some interesting observations from Graham Friend at Coleago Consulting on value of spectrum to MNO's. Real Revenue growth for Telco's in APJ (adjusted for inflation) over the past decade was -4%. 2024 and 2025 are critical years for spectrum auctions in various markets across APJ who have fallen behind in the 5G race. While the observations from Graham is from developed markets, the lessons will be similar across the board (and might be even worse). It is clear that acquiring spectrum is a defensive strategy for Telco's in most cases. The lessons are two-fold: re-farm and re-use as much as possible and acquire only what is absolutely needed. Else it leads to shareholder value destruction.
Mobile operators continue to invest billions of dollars in spectrum at auction and so it is reasonable to assume that their investment decision had a positive business case, a positive NPV and should in theory increase shareholder value. So why then, despite a large number of auctions taking place and billions being invested in spectrum over the last 10 years, have the share price of leading telcos such as Vodafone, AT&T and Verizon either declined or gone sideways for the best part of a decade? The attached paper offers a potential explanation for this apparent contradiction.

Telstra and Optus are switching off their 3G networks from 28 October. TPG Telecom’s (including Vodafone) 3G already ceased in January this year. Some of the ways you can get prepared include: ✅ To check if your device will be impacted SMS "3" to 3498. ✅ If your device is not compatible with 4G or 5G networks you will need to upgrade them prior to the switch offs. ✅ If you receive a message from your provider, make sure to take action quickly to ensure your connection remains stable. ✅ If you're unsure whether your personal medical alarms, smart watches and security systems will be impacted, get in touch with your provider as soon as possible to start the conversation. For businesses, make sure to inform customers via email or social channels of how they can get in contact with you if phone lines aren't working. For more information on the switch off and how to contact your service provider, visit https://lnkd.in/gpm_3TYP
