Changing employers and embracing a new field of work after 16 years at an international company has been the most courageous decision in Markus Zbojnikowski's career so far. Sales is a completely new profession for him as a certified technician. However, true to the motto “If not now, when?”, he decided to start working at HAHN+KOLB Werkzeuge GmbH wishing to take on more responsibility, talk to customers and acquire new knowledge. HAHN + KOLB Werkzeuge GmbH is one of the leading tool service providers and system suppliers and has been part of the Würth Group for 30 years. As a northern area sales manager, Markus Zbojnikowski is the main contact for customers in northern Germany, covering the company’s entire product and service portfolio. His decision to leave the safety net of a familiar role brought with it a whirlwind of emotions. While Markus Zbojnikowski felt like he was starting a new chapter full of opportunities and experiences, he was met with a lack of understanding by some of his colleagues and acquaintances, with questions like “Why do you change from production to sales?” or “What do you expect of this new beginning?” often asked. But for Markus Zbojnikowski, it was clear that his desire for change and the opportunity to explore new avenues were motivation enough for him to take the plunge. The result of his courageous decision was positive throughout. “My desire for change and my decision to venture onto a new path have brought me an always fun and friendly working environment, showing me that trying new things and making courageous decisions requires effort, but also opens up completely new perspectives,” says Markus Zbojnikowski.
