What if I told you FAILING to meet a goal could be a reason to celebrate? - - -  At #eGMAT, we set an ambitious SMART goal for August: * to account for 80% of ALL reviews posted on GMAT Club **** the only website that publishes VERIFIED reviews ******* verified through GMAC, the organization that administers the test. We did not quite hit that target :( ***instead of 80%, *******eGMAT students accounted for 77.8% of all reviews, BUT we are still popping the champagne!!! Here is why: Let's first understand our SMART goal: 📌 Specific: We focused solely on GMAT Club reviews - no Reddit, no YouTube, just the most trusted source. 📌 Measurable: Easy to count - X total reviews, Y from e-GMAT students. 📌 Achievable: We have consistently hit 60% since 2021. With our new initiatives (Last Mile Push Program – 6th iteration, Coach Connect Sessions, and 16 new application files), we believed 80% was within reach. 📌 Relevant: GMAT Club's verified reviews are 🥇GOLD🥇 for aspiring GMAT takers. More reviews mean more informed decisions. (let me know if you want me to elaborate on why GMAT Club verified reviews are GOLD). 📌 Time-bound: August 1 to 31. Clear start, clear finish. So, why celebrate, if we did not meet the established target? Because the JOURNEY was the real goal. Our teams synced up, our students put in the work, and we saw results. Yesterday, I was able to visit the Packaging Innovations event in Birmingham! As a degree apprentice at Kite Packaging, attending this event was an incredible opportunity to dive into the vast world of packaging and connect with industry professionals. One highlight of the day was the inspiring innovation talk by Ben Edmonds. His emphasis on the importance of younger voices in the packaging industry resonated deeply with me. It was eye-opening to realize that regardless of our role within our companies, we all possess the power to innovate and identify market opportunities. This was then reinforced by Peter Macqueen and Jo Stevenson as they discussed the pivotal role packaging plays in enhancing factors of production and subsequently boosting efficiency. Their assertion that packaging serves as a catalyst for improved productivity was really interesting to hear. One key takeaway from the discussion was the notion that investing in packaging education yields exponential returns. The degree course not only enriches us individuals but also empowers businesses to optimize their processes without incurring substantial costs. I had the privilege of making valuable connections that I know will greatly benefit my studies at Sheffield Hallam University. These connections will not only enhance my learning experience but also provide me with the tools and insights to make a tangible difference in the industry. Tampere University (TAU), located in Finland, joined the GTIME program in 2022 as a second-year partner. #TAU ranked 34th in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings for 2022. At TAU, students have the opportunity to specialize in Value-Driven Technology Business Development. The teaching in this specialization integrates technology management, sales and finance management, and value creation and communication, complementing the learning content of the first year of GTIME studies. The courses at TAU focus on value creation, quantification, communication, and capture. Trainees at Schmersal: responsibility in practice 💡   Project work is indispensable in the modern working world. At Schmersal, this is not only recognised, but actively integrated into training. Under the motto #SchmersalTinkers, trainees and students can develop project management skills not only in theory, but also in practice. 👩🔧👨💻   The focus of the first project was the development of a mobile phone case for Schmersal's company mobile phones. Four trainees and students from different disciplines made up the team, which took on #responsibility not only in theory but also in practice. 📱   From conception to presentation at the SPS trade fair in Nuremberg, the team went through a structured project process. The positive response encouraged the team to continue the #project and develop another mobile phone case. 📅   Schmersal shows that responsibility and self-organisation are not just buzzwords, but are actively practised in #training.
