National Reefer Rates 📅 As of today, below are the national per mile rates in trucking. If you have not implemented a boutique freight brokerage operation into your network, you could be spending more than needed. DM me for recommendations. 🚚 Reefer National Rates: The national shipper-to-carrier contract rates (excluding fuel) for reefers are $2.83/mile. The national broker-to-carrier spot rate for reefer is $2.31/mile (including fuel). 💲 The spread between shipper-to-carrier contract rates and broker-to-carrier spot rates, excluding fuel, is $0.52. Dry Van Freight Market Update Week 33: ~LA has seen an increase in TEU’s and spot market dry van linehaul rates are up to an outbound average of $2.23/mile which is $0.10/mile higher than last year. ~CA outbound spot dry van linehaul rates are up $0.14/mile from last year and averaging $2.13/mile. ~LA > Phoenix paid carriers $3.10/mile on average in the spot market for last week. ~LA > Stockton paid carriers an average of $2.48/mile last week which is slightly lower than last year. #freight #supplychain #transportation #trucking #logisics

Dry Van Freight Market Update May 27 - June 2: ~Chicago’s truckload capacity tightened following last week’s $0.01/mile increase to an outbound average of $1.68/mile. ~Atlanta saw a similar trend with rates increasing $0.02/mile to $1.77/mile average. This is up $0.20/mile in the last month on 22% lower volume of loads moved. ~Atlanta > Lakeland paid carriers $2.52/mile, $0.06/mile higher than the prior month. ~Lakeland > Atlanta paid carriers $0.83/mile and are $0.13/mile higher than the long-term average. ~That means RT is paying carriers $1.79/mile excluding fuel. At this level, carriers are operating under breakeven. #freightmarket #supplychain #transportation #logistics #trucking

I’m curious 🧐 so let’s chat! When I started in 2003 as a Freight Broker, we did Northeast outbound dry van only freight. And it worked! We started getting solid traction and after about a year or so we added Northeast outbound refrigerated freight. Eventually, we launched our Freight agent program where most of our agents specialized in different matches. Things like… ✅ Heavy haul ✅ Overdimensional ✅ Drayage ✅ Expedited ✅ Produce ✅ High value freight ✅ Cross border to CAN or MEX And the list goes on. I’d love to hear your favorite niche and why.
