Renew your passion for your organization by taking a "Trustee Day" and walking the halls. As a board chair of a nonprofit independent school and a board member of a nonprofit serving the Peninsula in the Bay Area, I look forward to our annual "Trustee Day." On this special day, we walk the halls, peek into classrooms, and observe various subjects being taught. It's an opportunity to appreciate different teaching styles, learn about the content being covered, and renew our energy and passion for the organization. Similarly, at the other nonprofit, we tour the different locations they serve, from early childhood to seniors, and even financial education for parents. This got me thinking about how many of us go to work every day, park our cars, head into the office, attend meetings, and then leave without fully engaging with the entire organization. When was the last time you walked the halls of your entire campus or building, popping into different departments to speak with various business process owners? I highly recommend taking the time to explore your organization and getting to know what's happening in the buildings you work in. This simple act can reignite your excitement and passion for your company, and if it needs renewing, this is a great way to do so. It was fun doing this study with the Hub's Abbey Gingras and Joy Mayer of Trusting News. Key points: 🔍 It's important for newsrooms to be open about their funding sources. Public lack of knowledge about the business side of news can lead to misconceptions. Revealing where the money comes from and why community support is needed can build trust. 📈 Each organization has a unique audience relationship, and therefore, different messaging works for different newsrooms. Tailoring the message to the audience is key. 🎯 Newsrooms should emphasize their specific areas of coverage and the impact of their work, explaining how audience support enables further in-depth reporting and investigations.

And making systemic changes that help build more personal relationships with Neighbors, Givers & Vincentians at scale can feel like boiling the ocean! 🌊 🔸 Emphasizing Neighbor & Vincentian testimonies 🗣 is essential. Donors connect with real gospel-impact, making it crucial to integrate family & friends' voices into our fundraising efforts. 🔹 The digital landscape 🚀 is changing rapidly. Leveraging technology for community engagement, data analytics and fundraising campaigns is more critical than ever. 🔸 The ways we've always done this work within nonprofits isn't the solution for today's issues. Manual efforts can’t fix this. Automation, integration, and personal support 🙏 is now a must-have.
