Guess what? We have just 1 day left... Let's say 1 more tip left after our 30 days of tips...🌸😁🥹🤭 This is amazing I did it We all did it Today is Day 29…🤭🤭 What do we have Day 29: Engage in Community Events First, what is a community? A community is a group of people who share common interests, values, goals, or geographic location. Members of a community often engage with one another through various forms of communication and interaction, forming connections and building relationships. Communities can be physical, such as neighborhoods and towns, or virtual, such as online forums and social media groups. The sense of belonging and mutual support within a community can foster collaboration, shared experiences, and collective growth. How do you engage? • Identify relevant events • Plan your participation • Promote your involvement • Engage actively at the event • Follow up after the event I hope this helps 👌🏼🔥

Day 2: Community Building The second thing I prioritize when networking is building a community. Networking conversations often start with one person, and then that person might introduce you to someone else, and the circle continues to grow. When you're building a community, you treat everyone with respect, regardless of whether you know them well. Never make anyone feel left out or lost in the conversation, and don't act like you can't expand your circle because you don't know them yet. Always be willing to expand your circle beyond the people you already know. Community building is important, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect, both those in your close circle and your wider network of acquaintances. That's two down! Check back in again at exactly 5PM for day three of my series, " Monochrome: The Black and Whites of Networking". Did you miss day one? Networking is an art, especially in the small business community. It's more than just exchanging business cards; it’s about cultivating genuine relationships and finding synergies. To forge valuable connections, start by truly listening to others' stories. It's not about you, but about how you can help and collaborate with your peers. Attend local events and workshops, engage with fellow business owners on social media platforms like this one, and participate in community projects. Don't be afraid to share your knowledge and offer advice—your expertise could be exactly what someone else needs. Remember, it's a two-way street. Be as open to providing value as you are to receiving it. That's how mutual respect is built, paving the way for lasting, valuable connections. Let's make the first move and connect today.

The modern professional landscape is continually evolving, and as it does, the importance of professional communities is increasingly evident. But we're not all good at finding the right fit. 😓 🤷♂️ 👇 Many people and organizations face challenges in creating, nurturing, and expanding communities effectively and deriving value from them. We struggle to build meaningful relationships, harness collective knowledge, and achieve a sense of belonging within our communities. Earlier this year, my friends Darryl Carr and Whynde Kuehn ran a series of events called Converge Australia that brought together professionals across strategy, architecture, and community building with the goal of facilitating connections and sharing of ideas I figured we might be able to learn from their experience building and running this event and maybe help some cats out there who might be looking to find community to help nurture their interests, build their own communities and further their professional career. Below are 5 Takeaways from that conversation and I think they're gems. Enjoy! 👀 💎 🏆 We Discuss: - Why do these communities matter? What problem are they solving? - What are some challenges faced by consultants when seeking to build authentic, supportive networks? - What are some strategies for a) finding a community to be part of; b) growing one of your own? - How much does being ‘close-knit’ matter with these communities? Key Highlights: - Introduction to Converge Australia 2023, a series of 32 events in 25 days across Australia bringing strategy, architecture and community professionals together (2:20-4:00) - The motivation and goals in attending professional community events (23:27-25:52) - How to find and get involved in a professional community (25:52-28:11) - Expectations and mindset that drive people to attend events like this (30:32-31:47) - Importance of quality conversations over scale (36:35-38:18) - Keys to building community (40:25-42:16) 5 Takeaways: 1) People attend these events to interact, gain new ideas, meet interesting people, and to make connections - if you're building a community you need to understand their motivations and why people come together 2) Getting involved in a professional community starts with building relationships and networks over time in areas that you have a genuine interest 3) Go in with a learning, exploratory mindset without set expectations and be prepared to give more than you receive and contribute value 4) Breaking large groups of people into smaller, more intimate groups leads to better conversations and connections than one large event 5) Understand who you want to help, what they need, how you can help - realize people are actively seeking community and connections #community #connections #networking #professionaldevelopment #strategyexecution #authentic #professionalgrowth Oliver Cronk Phil Yanov

In the world of networking, we often focus on what we can gain from new connections and opportunities. But let's not forget the other side of the coin: how we can help others. Every conversation has the potential to uplift someone else. It's not just about building a network; it's about building a community where everyone thrives.

Building and Growing our Enterprise Architect SAP Community I enjoyed the post and listing to the Youtube Community conversation that was highlighted by Chris Lockhart as I think about 2024 and further building and growing our Enterprise Architect SAP Community. I especially enjoyed his “5 Takeaways” from the conversation as reminders in building and engaging in a Community. 5 Takeaways: 1) People attend these events to interact, gain new ideas, meet interesting people, and to make connections - if you're building a community you need to understand their motivations and why people come together 2) Getting involved in a professional community starts with building relationships and networks over time in areas that you have a genuine interest 3) Go in with a learning, exploratory mindset without set expectations and be prepared to give more than you receive and contribute value 4) Breaking large groups of people into smaller, more intimate groups leads to better conversations and connections than one large event 5) Understand who you want to help, what they need, how you can help - realize people are actively seeking community and connections. I think of Professional Communities as “Communities of Practice and Engagement” and Chris does a great job of highlighting a number of the “Engagement” elements. Its all about the people. Thanks again Chris these reminders and for sharing. Thank you Darryl Carr and Whynde Kuehn for our Enterprise Architect SAP Community Australia tour within your Converge Australia October 2023 tour. “Earlier this year, my friends Darryl Carr and Whynde Kuehn ran a series of events called Converge Australia that brought together professionals across strategy, architecture, and community building with the goal of facilitating connections and sharing of ideas” True “Community to Community” collaboration in action and more to come in 2024! #sap #sapcommunity #sapea
