Based on a very long lasting and successful scientific collaboration with Alfonso Valencia and Davide Cirillo we are glad to inform about this great opportunity at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center where a Scientific Leader is needed. In the framework of the AI4Science fellowships the BSC is recruiting a new leader for the Social Link Analytics unit, who would continue some of the current research lines on sex/gender biases and evaluation of AI tools in health, disinformation in social networks and those in the framework of Bioinfo4Women (https://lnkd.in/e4UufYpP). The scope of the unit, which analyses biomedical data to evaluate their impact in scientific advancement, is broad, and there would be freedom to adapt these and explore other related research areas. 🌟 "Age is a risk factor for Alzheimer's - but so is being a woman" Journalist Christina Pirskanen at 20 Minuten discusses the gender gap in medicine with our CEO, Dr Antonella Santuccione Chadha, particularly focusing on Alzheimer’s disease. It highlights that being a woman is a significant risk factor for Alzheimer’s, alongside aging. Dr. Santuccione-Chadha explains that women are often underrepresented in medical research, leading to gaps in understanding how diseases and treatments affect them differently.
