🌍 ⚕️ Today we celebrate #WorldHealthDay and want to spotlight the health rights of people living with #diabetes (PwD).
⚖️According to @WHO key health rights include:
· Safe and quality care, without any discrimination – Many PwD face stigma and discrimination, which can discourage them from seeking medical care
· Information about treatment and informed consent – PwD have the right to be informed about their condition, treatment options and potential risks, allowing for informed decision making
· Bodily autonomy and integrity – Some PwD need support and access to education to ensure effective self-management
💊 Throughout Europe, access to medication, technologies and treatments varies widely. In some European countries, PwD do not have access to the required devices, technologies and/or medication, making management more difficult than in other countries.
