What could you have done differently to prevent what happened? We still have an obligation to treat everyone Why didn't you tell someone sooner, we could have done something. Look, we all know that everyone should be treated in the health system. No one wants to deny a person healthcare. But healthcare workers also have to be safe at work, and safe from their patients. Putting the responsibility on the healthcare staff with no support or realistic plans to keep them safe, is not a healthy work environment. Asking a nurse how they could have prevented a violent attack from a patient....and then wondering why the nurse needs time off to heal and cope, its not ok. We can do better and protect our staff from workplace violence while still providing treatment to those who need it.

"Too often the sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH) experienced by women in the health sector is unreported, unrecorded, and therefore not sanctioned" Dr. Roopa Dhatt presented the findings of WGH's Her Story Report: Ending Sexual Violence and Harassment of Women Health Workers during the World Health Organization technical consultation on strengthening evidence-informed decision-making for prevention and response to sexual misconduct. Although SEAH of health workers appears to be universal, legal frameworks, cultures, and socio-economic contexts vary widely. The #HealthToo report highlights the critical points that should be addressed in all contexts, read our recommendations 👉 https://lnkd.in/ghGqS5wJ

Men and boys have their own distinct health needs and vulnerabilities, and engaging men can benefit everyone—including women and girls. The reality is that inequalities in social value, power, and opportunities of men and women have provided men with many advantages, while at the same time men are disproportionately affected by many health challenges (e.g., homicide, alcohol abuse). Confronting both issues requires a careful balance, and this guidance seeks to provide practical suggestions around how to do this. Access the factsheets below:
