Unfortunately, intimate partner violence (IPV) has become increasingly common through coercive control and symbolic violence - which can sometimes be invisible at the start. It can often be subtle but progress into pervasive violence exercised to dominate and manipulate as a way to gain control. Among today's era of the digital age, there is an increase of digital influence over our lives with more common technology (like dating apps) which have been linked to a growth in both violence, sexual violence and crimes alike (often paired with the dark triad personality traits). So important to discuss these critical issues, especially to highlight VAWG across the next 16 days. Thank you both Lauren Manderson and Eilish Draper for writing this article for PHSO and increasing awareness across the organisation to contribute towards calling for change. #vawg #genderbasedviolence #intimatepartnerviolence #gbv #16dayschallenge #violenceagainstwomen
