Here’s a little tech secret. It’s not really a tech secret, but a language secret applied to tech. If you have a phrase with “ADJECTIVE NOUN”, you can usually get the correct meaning by just removing the adjective. For instance, the phrase “modular monolith” or “componentised monolith” or “literally-any-adjective monolith” is just a monolith. It will have all of the pros and cons of a monolith. But someone will “pinky swear promise” that this time it’ll be different. (News flash, this has been tried since literally before I was alive, it’s never worked.) Friends don’t let friends build #monoliths. (And before you say “we can refactor it when we need to” — the defining drawback, the entire reason we tell people not to do this, is that monoliths are infamous for being impossible to refactor into smaller components without more effort than a full rewrite.) #softwaredevelopment #softwaredesign #softwarearchitecture #justdoitrightthefirsttime

It's a long road to communicate a new way of working and thinking. Paradigm shifts take time. It's also hard to believe for many that what's being produced is so few people but that's what happens when you commit to web standards and have an innovation pipeline with HAX Lab. We are working to try and explain the story of how efficient this technology makes those that adopt it but I'm not joking when I say we shave 1000s of hours off time to produce web content and 100s of hours off the learning curve to contribute relative to other platforms. Back to it. We've got education to save and authors to empower.
