In the run-up to the much-awaited OPEC+ meeting, hedge funds increased their massively bearish bets on Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude, which ultimately failed to allay fears that the market is oversupplied. According to data from ICE Futures Europe and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, money managers increased their short-only positions in the two benchmarks by 6,665 lots to 210,135 in the week ended Nov. 28, the highest level in 21 weeks.
