"External charitable initiatives...don't do anything for your own employees" Wrong. Cynical & WRONG. Internally, it does more than you think... It sets an example, from the very top, which trickles down to every single one of your employees, of - HOW . WE . DO . BUSINESS It demonstrates with action & tangible evidence, that your business is not JUST about growth & "winning" & doing whatever it takes to stay ahead of the numbers - cutting corners, taking advantage of people, manipulation, exploitation, evasion, massaging the figures. The list goes on... I firmly believe: there is room in business for a conscience & a decent amount of room at that. There's a concept of: every 10% of earnings, you give away to charity. I believe Ben & Jerry's adopted this for a while (and hopefully still do) - among others I believe. Why would a business, whose primary goal is revenue and profit growth, give 10% of its earnings away, just like that? That sounds like the worst CFO in the world?! So, why? Because those who understand the concept of love, know: The only way to get love...is to GIVE love. And when you figure that out, the rest is history. I'm personally, very proud in many ways to represent #Peninsula, and this is just another thing on the list. Be cynical...dismiss as virtue signalling - corporate patting on the back, if you will - see how far that gets you 🙄 #love > #hate The money-making business is ruthless. Winning is a ruthless pursuit #Mourinho If you can win in the right way - oh it's oh so much sweeter #SirMatt #SirAlex And, in the off chance you do happen to "lose", if you played the game in the "right" way - you can never really lose...you always win...you ONLY win...even when you "lose" 🙃 And for those who are STILL cynical about these initiatives...our group-wide charitable efforts are discussed (at the very least) once a month, in a newsletter from the SLT...they are housed neatly at the very top of our internal employee hub...and I'm sure are in even more places I haven't even learned of yet. This isn't just: ooh get some PR, look at us doing altruistic things and then forget and never actually do anything about it. No, these initiatives are inbuilt to Peninsula UK and I'm very much here for it 👏🏻 #JT said it best: what goes around, goes around, goes around...comes all the way...BACK around 😇 #peninsula #businesswithaconscience
We are delighted today to announce our new charity partnerships with DEBRA UK, Air Ambulances UK, and Together for Short Lives. Peninsula Group will raise a minimum of £1m for each of these charities over the next three years, for a total of £3m. 90% of people who give to charity aren't maximizing their tax deductions... Donating appreciated stock can be more tax-efficient than giving cash. But, some charities don't accept stock donations. Using a donor-advised fund can solve this. 1. Donate appreciated stock to DAF 2. Sell stock inside the DAF 3. Grant the cash to charity

If you are effected by the recent hurricanes, approach associated websites with a healthy level of skepticism. There are criminals out there that take advantage of the situation unfortunately. Here are some interesting domains that were recently created that seem suspicious. - hurricane-insurance-almost-free-ca-save-money[.]bond - hurricanemiltonsupport[.]com - carolinahurricanesofficialonline[.]com - hurricane-insurance-44522[.]bond If, like many others, you find yourself moved to donate to a charitable cause you can use https://lnkd.in/gfGrZQCk to see how any registered charitable organization rates.

One of the often overlooked consequences of a cost-of-living crisis is the impact on charities. When people have less, they have less to give. There are 27,000 registered charities in Aotearoa, many of which provide life-changing services to our society's most vulnerable. As discussed in this RNZ piece, too many are now struggling to make ends meet. To all those currently working in the charity/non-profit sector- you are not invisible. Thank you for all that you do. https://lnkd.in/gUcC9r6e

Today is the International Day of Charity – a fantastic opportunity to recognise the amazing work carried out by charitable organisations around the world, and to make a donation if you can. We know there are lots of charities to choose from, but here’s why we’d love you to choose RAPAID: 👉 A casualty can tragically bleed to death within just three to five minutes, often before the emergency services have time to arrive. By equipping cabs with life-saving bandages, RAPAID empowers ordinary people to flag down the vital resources they need to #stopthebleed within those first, critical minutes following an injury. 👉 RAPAID's focus is on stopping the bleed. Your funding helps us extend our mission far and wide, ensuring that emergency bandage kits are accessible in a variety of public places – from schools and taxis to workplaces and other venues. By supporting RAPAID, you're contributing to building a resilient community where people are equipped to help each other in times of crisis. Together, we’re creating a safer UK, one kit at a time. To donate, visit: https://lnkd.in/e8npec3t #InternationalDayOfCharity #RAPAID #Charity

Some of you may know that this weekend is Worcester Half Marathon. As part of SJL Insurance Services ongoing charity commitment a few of our guys are running to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice. Which I'm sure if you are aware of the work that they do is a really important cause that raises money for children with complex medical needs. Currently Acorns Children's Hospice is facing the unimaginable prospect of turning away a child in need for the first time in their history this is due to the Government considering scrapping The Children's Hospice Grant which is vital for charities like Acorns to continue providing the care for families that is so crucial. The current cost of running a hospice comes in at over £10,000 a day which I'm sure you would agree is a staggering fee that is only made possible by donations. So if you were considering donating in the past now is the time as your money could be life changing for a family in need. Oliver Wakefield Cert CII & Culum Plane are the two guys out of the new business team that are picking up the baton this year. (Even more impressive is that Ollie has just welcomed two beautiful little twin girls into the world so his training has had to revolve around no sleep and a very hectic couple of weeks.) Any donation that you can make would be gratefully received. https://lnkd.in/exsZ9TbA https://lnkd.in/egCv_7W8 #charity #acorns #insurance #donations
