I think it took me about 4 years and 50 times of walking in ice-cold water for a couple of hours each time before I caught my first sea trout. Of course, it was undersized, and to the best of my knowledge, it still swims somewhere along the northern coast today. Dozens of lures, several rods and reels, sun, hail, wind, and snow. I don’t know if it was pure luck or if I had learned something from my outings, but those 5 minutes when that fish took me and I took the fish for a ride, were overwhelming. It felt like recognition for the effort seen and made it clear that it was worth it. I’ve put in many more hours as a lawyer. This year marks 15 years as an attorney at law, and truth be told, this has brought more recognition than the sea has brought sea trout to me. The most important of these are definitely the respect and kind words from clients and the pats on the shoulders from colleagues. But there is recognition that needs showing off as well. The Legal 500 is one such, and I’m very pleased with my own and RASK Attorneys-at-Law. RASK was highlighted in 9 areas, that is, in all that are rated in Estonia. 9 colleagues were named specifically. I myself did very well too. I was included in the Hall of Fame in Fintech (and RASK in 1st Tier) and highlighted as a Leading Individual in Corporate & Commercial. For the vast majority of you who do not follow or read lawyer guides and rankings, well, that is just a list of those people who are the best at what they do. So, a proud moment and another opportunity to thank colleagues and clients.
