New year, new packages 📦😍 Have you ever wondered how our beauty favorites are delivered to our customers? Our packaging is designed to beautify the customer experience to the max. Previously this led to high material costs and longer processing times, which we wanted to improve while still keeping a nice look and feel for our customers. Together with PAXLY, a software company with focus on optimized packaging purchasing, and THIMM, our supplier, we gave our packaging a makeover to bring a new efficient and beautiful design to life.🥳 While analyzing a lot of data, checking out various construction drafts and materials and doing multiple packing tests we finally made our decision for three main changes: 📦 Construction: With the same material we found a much quicker build up feature to save time. And thanks to the flaconi Graphics team the design on the outside stayed as beautiful as before. 📏 Sizes: The analysis of order data showed that different customized sizes are needed. The sizes were adapted to avoid using big packages for small items. 📩 Inlays: Every package size has inlays for better product protection that are easier to integrate than “standard” paper filling. All these changes led to significantly faster processing times for our flaconis in Halle: Each employee is now packing about 100 more packages per day. 😱 With these massive changes in construction and the associated lower use of material helps us to decrease our CO2 consumption by about 30 %. From client direct perspective, CPG brands are always looking for product education strategy in media plans and creative - to teach their consumers product differentiators. How can a product showcase their differentiators in an ad size this small. Take OTC pharma brands that have complex differentiators but also have to fit legal copy, product image, and CTA in a mobile ad or 30 second CTV copy. You can only fit so much copy before it looks like a lumascape ad. Educating at point of purchase in a QR code solves big challenge for brand marketers. From the media buying perspective, QR codes have been underutilized in creative units due to performance. Scan conversions are low here. This news could drive brands to reconsider using them in creative. Once the consumer becomes more familiar and makes it a habit to scan QR codes in-store. It could lead to forming a new habit of using them when they are in shopper mindset which would transcend to the same habit online. They might be more open to scan it on a CTV, DOOH, Online, Mobile, or Social ad. That would be great for performance boost which media buyers would love.
