One in six adults experience fertility challenges, and while we hear a lot about the physical toll of infertility, we don’t always talk as openly about the mental health challenges that often accompany this journey. These challenges are notably pronounced for Black and Latina women in the U.S. who also experience less favorable fertility treatment outcomes. When coupled with myths of hyper-fertility and persistent biases in reproductive care, the treatment journey can be especially isolating for historically underserved populations. As someone who has faced these experiences and difficulties, I am all too familiar with these feelings. That is why I am so proud to share that Headspace has partnered with fertility experts from Spring Fertility to create “Support For Your Fertility Journey,” a new content collection featuring guided meditations and mindfulness exercises, audio conversations, and a docu-style video series. To learn more and experience the “Support for Your Fertility Journey” collection, visit https://lnkd.in/dJJiAmRG. Being part of a team that responds to the growing demand for fertility-centered #mentalhealth resources is one of my most career-fulfilling moments. Such resources can be a helpful anchor for reducing feelings of shame so many women and families feel when they face difficulty conceiving. My hope is that every woman and family on this journey feels the lovingkindness poured into this collection that they so richly deserve.

30 is the new 20, but do our hormones know that? As women, we're living longer, delaying marriage, starting families later, and pursuing careers that match our ambitions. But there's a catch: Our biological clocks haven't caught up with our social progress. While we're shattering glass ceilings in our 30s, our hormones are still operating on an outdated schedule. This disconnect can lead to: -Unexpected fertility challenges -Higher risk of pregnancy complications -Surprise onset of perimenopausal symptoms It's time we address this biological-social gap. We desperately need: -More research & funding into women's health across all life stages -Real education about our bodies and hormones - not just the basics we got in high school -Innovative medical solutions that support our evolving lifestyles We need to align the conversation around our biological realities with our social advancements. It's not just about 'having it all' - it's about understanding our bodies so we can make informed choices. Navigating these changes and looking for resources? Slide into my DMs. #WomensHealth #Fertility #reproductivehealth #HormoneHealth

What it takes to initiate a change in outlook towards overall health ? A lot. The health outcomes are driven by the decisions we take everyday . While, we do not claim to know it all but PregAmie has been significantly successful in making a small change in how women look after their mental health during pregnancy in particular. Maternal mental health is extremely under discussed in conversations between the clinicians and the patients and their families . Our cohort of 200+ pregnant user have made it a habit of monitoring their mood in the App daily and it has resulted in better outlook towards maternal mental health. With more than 30 percent of women suffering from post-partum depression resulting in reduced quality of life and mother-infant bonding, it is important to have awareness and intervention during gestation period . It will be interesting to see their pregnancy outcomes post delivery as there is enough clinical evidence available to suggest that improvement in ante-natal mental health of the women improves pregnancy outcomes . For women in general, monitoring mood is an important tool for us to intervene when a alarming mood pattern is noticed and it creates a simple, ecosystem of evidence driven intervention which is scalable. #women #maternalhealth #mentalhealth #health #intervention #privatehealth #publichealth #technology #lifestyle

🤲 According to the Pew Research Center, nearly half (42%) of adults report using fertility treatments or know someone who has. 🤲 According to the National Library of Medicine, there are higher rates of stress, anxiety, and depression among IVF patients than in the general population. When you combine those statistics with the overwhelming rates of general work stress and burnout, the emotional toll on working professionals undergoing fertility challenges is tough to fathom. People often face unseen struggles in their personal lives, but the healthiest workplaces — those that lead with compassion — acknowledge that work and life are never truly separate, and professional support can be just as important for those personal struggles. For tools and techniques to support your mental health needs throughout the specific stages of your family planning journey, check out the Support For Your Fertility Journey collection in the Headspace app, free even without a membership. 🧡
