🤔 How do "traditional" salespeople fare in tech sales? 🦸♂️ The answer is of course: brilliantly well! 🧙♂️ When transitioning into tech sales, your specific background doesn't matter... what matters is if you have TRANSFERABLE experience and skills 👊 And Maxim, of course, had plenty of those. 🙋♂️ Maxim started as an automotive salesman at BMW. He went through diverse sales roles before finally deciding to transition to the tech industry. 🧩 He decided to apply to hyrise and received several job offers in a matter of weeks. Today, he is Team Lead Sales at tutum GmbH 🥳 👉 "I can now start a new job that suits me and the company perfectly, so that we can go on a cool tech sales journey together and hyrise did a damn good job." 💪 His story encourages others to remain open to new things, to explore new paths and to recognize every new learning as valuable. During the early days of my first job as a Field Sales Rep, we would always start the week with a Monday morning sales review by our top boss. While initially, we would be a bit nervous but gradually it got ingrained as a powerful way to set the stage for success. The entire regional sales folks would be there and our boss would run through every account, every opportunity. Go deeper to understand dynamics, track progress, and navigate roadblocks. We would celebrate wins and also analyse not-so-favourable outcomes. This routine encouraged the sharing of strategies, insights, and best practices. To draw a parallel from the tech world, it's a classic use of Prompt Engineering in team building. Super effective in enhancing communication, problem-solving, creativity, decision-making, team dynamics, and learning. #Promptengineering #Team #Productivity #MondayMotivation #SalesSuccess Raghavendra Reddy (RR) Aditya Mohan Sharma Naveen Hemanna Naveen Kumar

By robbing Founders and CEOs of the opportunity to drive sales by themselves, we rob them of the single most important learning opportunity to build a successful business. Irrespective of the intention, this is the single biggest sabotage you’ll ever do. Hired salesgun do not cause sales and revenue, they fulfill a natural demand caused by parts of the collective GTM teams and product’s own performance. If one single person was capable of revenue generating sorcery, wouldn’t they just do it for themselves? Why’d they come work for you? There is no shortcut or hack to greatness. Stop sacrificing common sense at the alter of wishful thinking.

What's your approach to building a successful sales team? ✏️ Building a successful sales team for me is all about fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment. I believe in hiring not just based on skills but on a shared passion for the product and a customer-centric mindset. Encouraging open communication, providing continuous training, and recognizing individual strengths are key elements in creating a team that thrives and achieves collective success.

I'm growing increasingly uncomfortable with claiming accomplishments. Looking back at my decade in sales: I had a great run as an AE. But, despite being defined as an "Individual Contributor," succeeding required acting like anything but. My success was dependent on our product team building something customers loved, customer success supporting my customers so they'd want to expand, and sales leadership removing obstacles. And that's an understatement. It's hard to believe the number of people doing extraordinary work that allows an AE to consistently exceed quota. Sadly, most of them rarely receive recognition. This "dependence" becomes even more significant as a sales leader. Any success at my level requires effort and execution from directors, front-line leaders, AEs, and SDRs. Imagine taking credit for the work of dozens of others? People love to say they are "self-made." Maybe some are. I'm not. I was fortunate to grow up with parents who gave me support and resources - effectively a "head start." I'm blessed with an incredible wife who encourages me and keeps me optimistic when I'd otherwise give up. I have a network of friends who teach, encourage, and keep me sane. I suppose what I'm trying to say is I'm just over a decade into my career, and I haven't done much. But we have accomplished some pretty cool things. And we are just getting started.

2024 is off to a HOT start. I have received the “Sales Person of the Month” honor within my division of Keyence. I’d like to take a moment and tell a relevant story: Somewhere around a year ago I was at a family function outside of work. I was speaking with my brother-in-law about what my role with Keyence entailed and why I felt working for this company was such a great fit. “The combination of technical and sales knowledge required, the variability in my work day, the GRINDERS that I am surrounded by, the resources we provide to our customers, the company structure, etc…..” I went on and on detailing a typical work day and why my personality molded with the lifestyle of a sales engineer so well. My brother-in-law, who knows my past both in business and personally, was happy for me. He was happy that I was happy. Happy that I found something that lit a spark in me. He knew that in past roles I wasn’t fulfilled and that, in some cases, had uprooted my life by moving THOUSANDS of miles away from home to attempt to find the right fit. In knowing these things he asked me, “Trevor, would you have continued to move your life around, even if it meant continuously uprooting everything to be happy with what you do?” and my answer was a simple one, “Yes.” We spend hundreds of hours per year working a job to provide for ourselves and others. That is TOO LONG to be doing something you aren’t passionate about. Don’t settle. This is the point I am trying to make. You know what you’re worth. And if you don’t know where you belong, keep looking. The perfect opportunity could be right around the corner. It was for me. The “Why” is quite simple and easy to see. However, if you find yourself in the right space and amongst the right people, the awards and praise will come by default. You bring more value to the world by being your best self. Don’t settle.
