Center for Health Equity Spatial Epidemiologist, Ryan Ramphul, PhD, recently published an interactive map as part of a comprehensive landscape scan of #foodismedicine (FIM) programs across the state of Texas in collaboration with the Texas NMDOH Consortium. Dr. Ramphul's map allows viewers to see food insecurity summary statistics and current FIM programs by county or congressional district across the state. This map additionally visualizes food insecurity by census tract across the Greater Houston region. This work helps collaborators better understand the current landscape of FIM initiatives in Texas, which can help translate into actionable policy changes to address food insecurity and improve Texas' FIM infrastructure.
