Allowing advisors to find true independence, freeing them of the confines found in the IBD space. The traditional IBD space often limits advisors to an antiquated tech platform, reduced product offering, singular lending and custodial options. Makes you wonder why it’s called Independence.

Planning for succession is a critical step in securing the sustainability of family businesses. In many family businesses, tension arises between the eagerness of the next generation leaders to take the reins and the readiness of the founding generation to relinquish control of the family enterprises. As an M&A deal guy, we frequently talk with business owners and entrepreneurs about how their business fits into their lives and its purpose. Of course part of the response is about wealth creation and cash flow. But we also hear a lot about legacy, taking care of employees and their families, and underlying missions of why they started or bought their company in the first place.
