🚨NH Law Update🚨 Are you an employer in New Hampshire with employees that are volunteer firefighters or emergency medical technicians? If so, you MUST know about this law update❗ In June 2024, Govenor Chris Sununu, signed into law, an update that protects the jobs of volunteer firefighters and EMTs. This update is aimed at preventing discrimination and retaliation against volunteer emergency responders when responding to an emergency. ❗Effective August 13, 2024 - New Hampshire employers are now prohibited from discharging or disciplining an employee who is a volunteer emergency medical technician or firefighter if their absence from work was due to responding to an emergency. 📑 All employers are encouraged to update their policies and handbook to comply with this update. ✉️ For more information about this update or how to incorporate it into your policies and handbook, please contact us at [email protected] #laborlaw #NHEmployers

Tactical Healthcare Expert | Bridging the Gap between Clinical and Security | Always Innovating to Reduce Workplace Violence | Security is not the absence of threat, but presence of connection.
This is such an amazing story. But, imagine if these folks were tied up on a less critical call, such as trying to compassionately manage a mental health patient that takes a tremendous amount of time and were unable to be free to do skilled interventions like this? Thats the power I see as a nurse of new service lines like VICTOR | Violence Intervention and Crisis Threat Operational Response Per a recent report by the Evening Standard, LAS is short by approximately 320 paramedics and 130 emergency medical technicians. which contributes to the strain on the service, especially as demand continues to rise with London’s growing population. They report that the shortage has forced LAS to prioritize the most critical cases and not dispatch ambulances to approximately 3,500 lower-priority incidents weekly that previously received responses. Mental health calls are often deemed in this category and end up leaving community and police resources struggling to manage patients alone. VICTOR has the potential to really help support Emergency Services so that amazing guys like this can continue to serve where their critical skills are needed most. #innovation hashtag #support hashtag #services
💬 “I wouldn’t be a mum today if it wasn’t for them. They saved not one, but two lives that day" Mum Abie, baby Lydia and dad Michael enjoyed an emotional reunion with the #TeamLAS crews who helped to save their lives after a traumatic birth. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) Courtney and Corey were first to reach Abie – their first 999 call of the day. They then worked with colleagues to provide life-saving treatment at home before taking them to hospital on blue lights. Courtney said: “It was really heart-warming to meet the family and get a cuddle with Lydia. She’s growing fast and such a beautiful baby – this is exactly why we do this job.” Full story: https://lnkd.in/ehpAcTFw

Simplify your EMS processes to help your team love what they do | If you’re in EMS, let’s connect! 🚑
If you’re in EMS, you probably like stepping into chaos and making things better. Do you see yourself as a person who makes things better? Who de-chaosifies? When you fix what bugs you, when you make an improvement, you’re making things better. You’re stepping into chaos and stepping out with less chaos. You aren’t just an EMT or Paramedic, you’re a dechaosifier of patient care, of documentation, of logistics, of bathroom cleaning, of brake jobs, of hiring, of training, of operations. Or you can see yourself as someone who just sits around and waits for the tones to drop. #EMS
