Wow, guys! Thank you for all the support on my last post.
Here's the next step in my deep dive on cannabis sales numbers from Florida to get a better sense of how Surterra Wellness (Part of Parallel, soon to be part of SNDL Inc. /Sunstream) has been progressing and put them in context over different periods and amongst competitors to share for you guys.
While my last spreadsheet was informative, it only covered one week. So, I've compiled the first 5-Week period into a spreadsheet to show the top 5 companies in Florida by dispensary number during the first week of 2023 and 2024 and how their numbers changed compared to the overall market and each other.
Of note, despite not expanding their store count, Surterra Wellness was able to:
Increase their overall and per store THC sold by an impressive 38.7%, bringing them to 688,596 mgs per week, well above the average Florida dispensary at 513,719 (-1.88% from last year). Only Curaleaf was able to start the period above the state average and expand further.
Increase their overall market share of THC to 9.77%, well above their dispensary share at 7.29%, despite overall locations in Florida increasing by about 20%.
Increase the amount of Medical MJ in smoking form sold by 25.05% overall and by location, while their competitors dropped by 2-22% per location!
Increase their massive foothold in overall CBD sales by another 393,397 mgs, despite the CBD market contracting by -4.01%
Increase their CBD market share to a whopping 41.98% with only 7.29% location market share!
Much more to learn from these numbers, but I look forward to sharing those in an upcoming article.
Other companies included in this comparison include, Trulieve, MÜV, AYR Wellness Inc., and Curaleaf.
This is simply meant to highlight Surterra and their great progress in the last year, not bring down others in the space.
Thank you again for all of the support and hope you had a refreshing weekend!
Let me know what you guys find most interesting about this data.
