Cancer has many ugly sides. However, one that is very little appreciated is that, even when patients are being treated, skin lesions caused by the treatment itself can become so unbearable that patients stop treatment or diminish dose. An estimated 30% of patients that could be potentially be cured by approved therapies drop out because of these problems. Cristianne Bertolami and her team were not comfortable with this and went on to found Wecare Skin a company developing topic creams to help patients prevent and treat these lesions and finalize their treatment. The best thing is that clinical trials proved that 100% patients using their products are kept in treatment! That’s a huge win. Products are even given (for free) by big pharmaceutical companies (like Novartis and Bayer) to patients using their oncological products and revenue is rising 60% YOY. Wecare is not a one trick pony and has several products in the pipeline and all of them with clinical data to back them up.
