[REFLECTION WEDNESDAY] It's the best when you are in flow - - when things are clipping along for you, your team and work in all the best ways, isn't it? But that isn't always the case - nor should it be. Sometimes we get uncomfortable. Especially when we are trying something new or being challenged and that inner critic starts sharing its opinion. When we become more aware of what we need to work on and what our thoughts about ourselves are - discomfort shows up. What we do from here matters. We can choose to put it at ease by not making a move. No changing. No improving. No progress. Or we can choose to look it in the eye and navigate through. Understand what is going on at a deep level. Do the work so we can emerge on the other side as a better version of ourselves. 1️⃣ Step one: Be aware of when the discomfort shows up. 2️⃣ Step two: Notice how you respond. Is your response moving you in the direction you want to go? When you find yourself in a situation where you feel unheard, or things aren't going as planned, it can be beneficial to take a moment to reflect and ask yourself three key questions: 1. What is the specific outcome that you truly desire in this situation? 2. Who is the best version of yourself that you need to embody to navigate this challenge effectively? 3. How can you make a decision that not only serves your interests but also takes into account the well-being of all parties involved? By contemplating these questions thoughtfully, you can gain clarity and insight into how to best approach and resolve the situation at hand. I have a problem with leadership--the dominant model of leadership. We all do. Here is the problem. With its emphasis on getting attention and exercising influence, the model breeds narcissism, and covers up for it. This is why we need to dismantle it, and replace it, with care. The clip is part of a longer conversation with Marcel Schwantes on putting care at the core of leading, for his #LoveinAction podcast. You can watch the whole thing here. https://lnkd.in/edxAzXNh #Leadership #Leadershipdevelopment #LeadingwithCare

CEO @ Active Choices | IEP Method® creator | Positive Energy Workplace Initiative® founder | Author | Strategist | Keynote Speaker
Loved my conversation with Patricia Karpas last month. She is an incredibly heartful interviewer. Thank you, PK for having me on, for the great questions, for your care and commitment to getting into the REAL stuff. In this discussion we talk about "IEP" (Intentional Energetic Presence®) the IEP Method®, and how how we SHOW UP not only impacts our personal lives, families and those we love, but our organizations, the quality of the culture and creativity we have inside them, and those we lead. This is a different kind of interview, more personal, but also, lots of nuggets here that translate to business. May there be something here for you in your love and leadership. And if you are an organizational leader who is responsible for cultural health/development/innovation, may this interview provide a different perspective of why it's so essential to take an inside-out approach to leadership, culture change, and creating positive impact today. Have a beautiful weekend. #Iepmethod #positiveenergyworkplace #leadership #culture #podcast #talentdevelopment #leaders #presence #energy

Lessons from a Former Secret Service Agent 💡 Listening to the Diary of a CEO podcast by Steven Bartlett always brings high-quality insights! But the episode featuring Evy Poumpouras is probably my current favorite right now. 💗 As a former Secret Service Agent for presidents like Obama and Bush, her experiences and lessons are impactful, and just hit me to my core! After finishing the entire 2-hr podcast episode, here are some key lessons I learned – and still learning, that are applicable to both business and personal life: 1. Create Boundaries: Be warm to people, but not overly kind to the point of being taken advantage of. 2. Believe in Your Value: Don’t use this for arrogance, instead, use it for confidence. Use it to deliver high-value service with humility. 3. Leadership Reflection: Your leadership style mirrors your culture. If you’re cynical and you invite drama, then the people who will work with and for you will also be full of cynicism and drama. 4. Look Inward First: If you get disrespected, reflect on your actions that might have allowed others to treat you that way. 5. Power of Listening: The listener ALWAYS holds more power than the talker. These lessons are indeed still a work in progress for me. 🙆♀️ How about you? Which lesson are you learning right now? #fearlessfriday #womeninleadership #selfimprovement

Have you ever taken a leap of faith into the unknown? Having thoughtful, deep-dive conversations with inspiring leaders about ethics and leadership is a familiar and interesting space for me. Promoting my own podcast: not so much. I’m excited and proud to share that we are almost ready to launch The Human Conversation podcast. It’s been quite the journey. As with anything else, podcasting requires technical skills and meticulous planning. The last time I felt the exhilarating rush of leaping onto the unknown was when I decided to confront my fear of heights with a skydive. And much like with a sky-dive, it is a better experience overall to have an expert at your back to help with effective execution. Huge thanks to Vivian Acquah CDE® for her hands-on guidance. Her experience backed insights and technical know-how have been invaluable in this process. So, will you join me in a dive into The Human Conversation? Stay tuned for more! Bodhi guides impactful leaders worldwide on their quest to true freedom. He is on a mission to lead those entangled in life's complexities toward genuine connection and profound impact.
Busyness is Laziness..... That’s a provocative statement… but what I know is, busyness IS laziness because you're not willing to do the work to get more Present. To slow down. To learn how to access your passion, joy and intuition... You're just distracting yourself with your To Do List and your busyness. Working with leaders around the globe, I have seen hundreds of times that those who commit to cultivating Presence (instead of Distraction), and put this front and centre in their lives, have a totally different day. They're in the Flow, their 'To Do List' looks very different and their connection is so different - with themselves, with their clients and with their team. They spend 80% of their time in their Superpower instead of in the weeds of the business. This is sustainable. Busyness is not. This controversial statement is the topic my conversation with Richard Stokes on True Freedom this week.
