Gen Z is impatient. They are. We tell our advertising and marketing partners that they have to base their communication on the “5 words and a big picture” method – nailing down their marketing messages to a concise to-the-point approach. And according to Kris Boger - Head of Product Marketing, Europe at TikTok, Gen Z has about 8 seconds of attention span (down from 12 seconds for Millennials). That’s all they’ll give you. Like it or not, this is the way that Gen Z processes the world. And, what’s more, Gen Z are often unwilling to compromise. They are less likely to tough it out through the hard times, choosing instead to move on, and try something new. Watch out marketers! Note: although there will be challenges for Gen Z, which may include a limited ability to tackle complex, time-consuming projects that require patience and sustained effort, there may be some benefits to this approach. Lifelong impatience might drive individuals to constantly seek improvement. They might develop strategies to find quicker, more innovative solutions to various aspects of life, whether it's in their careers, personal development, or relationships. Maybe they have something here. Only time will tell what if the benefits outweigh the challenges. But for now, marketers must adjust to Gen Z’s distinct viewpoint.
