In fact, 43% of leaders seeing it as a top benefit for supporting corporate sustainability initiatives. 🌍 ESG Agenda: Despite uncertainties, leaders are committed to driving impactful change. From reducing emissions to leveraging automation technologies for increased productivity, the industry is rallying behind ESG pledges to shape a greener future. 💊 Patient-Centric Approach: Drug shortages and rising costs continue to pose challenges, impacting patient care. However, supply chain leaders recognise the importance of adaptability and are actively working to minimise disruptions and ensure access to vital medicines. 🔒 Data Security Concerns: As data becomes increasingly critical, cybersecurity remains a top priority with 31% of respondents citing data breaches and security as their biggest challenge. 🤖 AI Revolution: Artificial intelligence is reshaping supply chain dynamics, with leaders focusing on value addition and risk management. By harnessing automation, organisations aim to optimise operations and mitigate the escalating costs of research and drug development. The journey ahead may be fraught with challenges, but it's also ripe with opportunities for innovation and collaboration. Through focused investments in digital technologies, biopharma companies could transform today’s siloed supply chain into future-proof digital supply networks. However, a recent survey by the Deloitte Centre for Health Solutions found that supply chain digitalisation is still a relatively new endeavour for many companies, with 82 per cent of respondents indicating that their organisations have been on the journey for less than five years. Despite this, more than one-third of them already believe their organisation is likely to scale the use of more transformative applications in the next five years.
