🎥 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰) 🎥 I embarked on an internship at Newgen Software, much like the character in 'The Intern (2015)' who found new beginnings later in life. My journey was transformative, thanks to the insightful projects and mentorship I received. My internship began with a remarkable interview experience. I am immensely grateful to Saurabh and Rajan for a memorable 30-minute conversation that delved into my past achievements, including case competitions, my motivations, aspirations, and how Newgen resonates with my professional goals. We even discussed my proficiency in creating impactful PowerPoint presentations. In April 2024, I joined as a Management Intern in the Strategic Department. This role provided me with the opportunity to contribute to critical projects, such as developing market analysis for expansion into new verticals, crafting strategic proposals to enhance customer engagement through AI-driven automation, and optimizing internal workflows to boost efficiency and reduce turnaround times. Throughout my internship, I gained invaluable insights and skills. The HR team's unwavering support created a conducive environment for growth and learning, making the experience both enriching and rewarding (Thanks to Vivek, Alvin and Rajat). A detailed demo of the NewgenONE platform provided me with a deep understanding of its powerful capabilities, showcasing how it drives automation and efficiency for businesses. Special thanks to Varun, Nishant for the comprehensive demo and guidance. Saurabh mentorship was pivotal in my professional development. He challenged my assumptions and encouraged me to think critically about the business case behind every action, fostering a deeper understanding of strategic decision-making. Transitioning from a medical background to an IT product company was a significant step, and my internship at Newgen has been nothing short of transformative. Historically, the primary distinction between one-year and two-year full-time #MBA programs has been the opportunity for #internships. Recognizing that internships can be valuable for career transitions and gaining industry experience, #Lehigh offers an optional internship component for the one-year program. While the 1-MBA has a strong record of preparing students for the job market, this added flexibility gives students the choice to pursue an internship if it aligns with their post-MBA goals.

🌟 Thank You for the Incredible Internship Experience! 🌟 ✏ As my internship at AbbVie concludes, I want to sincerely thank everyone who made this experience so valuable. 📈 I have learned and grown tremendously over the past few weeks. When I started, my data and ML knowledge was quite limited. Thanks to the incredible guidance and opportunities at AbbVie, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of these domains. I’m truly grateful to work under my manager, Ryan Chandler, PhD, for his thoughtful guidance and support in expanding my technical skills. I also want to thank Brian Martin for supporting the team and creating an environment that fosters growth and learning. ✅ A special thanks to Jane Swift, Emma Kentner, Rylan Terrasse, and DaLacy Anderson for their outstanding support. P/S: Aside from the technical skills I’ve gained, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you never truly know your limits or how adaptable your brain can be. At AbbVie, I’ve seen people successfully transition from one role to another. I know someone who started with a degree in biosciences, worked in the AbbVie lab for years, and then made a fantastic switch to machine learning. Some like Yahel, Ferran, Sebastian and Fiorela joined the team full time after their internships. Others went back to university like Lucía who went to Harvard University, Adrien and Maite went back to finish or start their medical school. A few decided to join consulting firms like Matteo who joined Bain & Company (and got promoted manager recently), Mandy who joined Gartner, Himanshu who joined McKinsey & Company, Caterina who joined OWT - a Swisscom company, Alla and Cristina who joined IQVIA or Alfonso who joined Inventa. Others pursued their careers in investment like Sanchita who joined SAGANA or in finance like Marta who joined Morgan Stanley. Others chose the industry like Samantha who joined Novartis, Albert who joined ISDIN, Alexia who joined Nordstar Medical, Nicole who joined Greenlight Re. While some decided to be entrepreneurs and founders to tackle unmet needs themselves like Lucía who started YouShift, Mariana who just launched Joona, an app to access health information, Paolo who joined Antler or Lesley who co-founded Cambridge Femtech Society. 🌟 Gratitude Post: Reflecting on my internship at Zuellig Pharma 🌟 As I conclude my internship at Zuellig Pharma, I can't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for this incredible journey. This experience has been nothing short of transformative, both personally and professionally. 🔹 Key Learnings: 1. Exposure and Understanding of Logistics and Supply Chain Management: I gained insights into the intricacies of supply chain processes from a warehousing and distribution perspective, witnessing how theoretical concepts come to life in a dynamic business environment. 2. Client Management: I had the opportunity to manage client relationships, experiencing the process of understanding their needs and striving to meet their expectations. This experience taught me the importance of empathy and effective communication in building strong client partnerships. 3. Project Management: Facilitating the implementation of a time attendance module with minimal guidance was a significant highlight of my internship. Managing both internal and external stakeholders taught me the importance of clear communication, project management, and adaptability. 🔹 Other Highlights: - Developed and proposed a foundational guide toward a leaner and more efficient process flow for the program team's non-EDI vertical section. - Built meaningful connections with colleagues who guided, inspired, and supported me throughout. - Exposed to other functions (Warehouse, Production, Quality). You won't believe what happened to me yesterday. It started as a normal day at work, attending the Pharma Exchange event at Genentech with around 50-odd people. The leadership team was sharing valuable insights about the organization. Then, the floor opened for questions. Hesitant at first, I raised my hand, asked what to expect as a summer intern, and sought tips for myself and my fellow interns. The CEO and leadership team provided amazing advice, but that’s not the point. The event ended, and I went back to my desk. Soon, people began reaching out to appreciate me for raising my hand and asking the question. When ten people mentioned it, I realized it wasn’t just those 50 people in the room – 30,000 people had seen me ask that question. How did I find out? I reached out to the leadership panel, introducing myself, thanking them for their insights, and requesting a coffee chat. That’s when a Senior VP responded, telling me how impressed the panel was and that now, I have a network of 30,000 people I can potentially have coffee chats with. To everyone out there who thinks building a network is just about sending LinkedIn invites and having thousands of followers – building a network takes effort every single day. It takes courage to leave an impression in the room. You have to be humble and ask for opportunities. My experience taught me never to be scared or hesitant to ask a question in a room full of people – even if you gain just one good connection or none at all. Always be curious, ready to learn, and ready to adapt. These are the values my Dad instilled in me, and I thank him every day for giving me the courage and confidence to step forward.
