I’m very excited to be attending the Canva Create Conference tomorrow!! Even more, I’m overjoyed that my manager recognizes the value of professional learning and growth. Learning at work doesn’t need to be a time suck. Real life example of using Supered to learn in-app with no extended time. I am new to Canva and I needed to create a snippet and a fun GIF. D'Ana Guiloff created this guided Supered Map that I followed step-by-step in Canva to create digital assets. And BAM now I know how and can always refer back if I forget. Plus it took no extra time, actually it cut down time because I didn't need to dig around to figure it out or ask someone. I love finding out about new technology even if I might not be using it and today thanks to Mel Barfield I found out about Clipchamp — a versatile tool designed to empower creators of all levels. It has everything I would expect from a video editing solution like text-to-speech, auto-captions and the ability to resize videos. However, what stood out to me (other than it being from Microsoft or acquired by them) was a feature I don't think I've seen incorporated into an editing software before, Speaker Coach. This looks at pace, pitch and filler words to help improve people's communication skills. This free piece of tech (there is a paid version too) could help people with pitches, presentations and interviews. I started using Canva two weeks ago and invested time in learning its features through YouTube tutorials. I created my portfolio twice, refining my skills and discovering new features along the way. With each project, I gained more experience and confidence. While I'm still learning and exploring Canva's capabilities, I'm enjoying the process and finding it easier to create projects with each attempt. It’s very demure 🌸 and very mindful 🧘♀️ of me to finally push myself to explore areas I had overlooked in college, only to realize that these were things I could have easily mastered if I hadn’t been putting them off. I began with Canva, creating this video in JUST five minutes—without even using Canva Pro (as you can probably tell 😎 ). But the real question I keep asking myself is: why didn’t I start sooner?
