It’s time for Biden to do what is right and pass the baton on to a more capable leader who will mop the floor and win in a landslide over our former president. Everyone knows this is the right thing to do, The USA needs to insure our former president (34 felony convictions awaiting sentencing + 54 felony indictments including RICO from 3 independent grand juries in process) is not given the chance to overthrow our democracy and install himself as the fascist autocrat he desires to be. THIS should tell us all something. Trump is a danger to ALL. Those who were on the INSIDE saw this. Rarely can we rise as ONE Nation. We must vote for President Biden. Not voting for Trump is not enough. We face dangerous and pivotal times. Frankly, I can think of no one better than Joe Biden at this moment in our history. Only Biden has managed to get Republicans to do ANYTHING. And now that seems done with events in the House. Only Democrats are willing to act. What's needed? 1) Biden re-elected 2) Democrats take House 3) Democrats keep the Senate with enough votes to alter the filibuster. THIS is the only road forward. I never voted for Trump, though I wrote to him directly at The White House as I did to every president since Bill Clinton beginning 1996 after I became a US permanent resident and later a naturalized citizen in 2002, as I later read somewhere George Washington wanted citizens to do: write a letter. Hypothetically, if Trump were to call me and ask me to register Republican and be on his ticket: 1. Of course, I did not beg him to be on the ticket. If this is the tone he wants to take, a tone with which I did not put up even with the Federal Reserve Board or any number of senior executives I worked for in my career in the private sector, on any given day I would clean out my desk and resign. I wanted Tony Fauci of HHS to do the same during COVID. Trump lost in 2020, fair and square, because he mishandled COVID politically. 2. I would still not register with either political party and take my cue from George Washington on partisanship. 3. Obviously, as an immigrant I would not be eligible for the White House because I am not natural born and cannot constitutionally step in for the President, even if it is only temporary. The election, if held today, is a close tie between Biden and Trump within statistical margin of error, and could be a repeat of 2020. Biden, said if he loses, unlike Trump in 2020, he will concede and peacefully transfer power. This is an attaboy for Biden and the Democrats, and makes me, one independent among 50% of the American electorate, want to vote for him again as I did in 2020. Donald Trump has not said anything about what he would do if he were to lose again to Biden in 2024. For Trump to make me want to vote for him, the same litmus test which Biden passed applies to Trump. Is Trump going to peacefully concede the election or call for “bedlam” as he did after 2020?

After Biden's poor showing in yesterday's Presidential candidate debate on CNN, his odds of being the next President have tumbled in election markets to around 1 chance in 5. The odds on a Trump win increased a few points, from 60% before the debate to 63% after it - the initial jump around the time of the debate was as high as 9 points but then subsided. The biggest shift was in the collective chance of another Democratic candidate winning the Presidency. Odds on Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, increased from 2% to as high as 9% around the time of the debate. Odds also increased for Michelle Obama and Kamala Harris, each of whom reached 5% at one point. Collectively, the odds on non-Biden Democratic candidates are almost as high as those on the President himself. In a highly partisan and divided nation, where the race should be close, this almost couldn't be worse for Biden. Speculation on social media of a "hot swap" is running high, but the Democratic establishment is not known for making rash moves. So unless Biden can be convinced to withdraw - and you can be sure there will be senior Democrats trying to persuade him to do so - things are looking bleak for Democrats and good for Republicans. #USelection #USPresident

In response to Donald Trump's attempt to rig the 2020 election, the US Supreme Court decided to take up a historic constitutional and political dispute by deciding whether Colorado can prevent him from running for president. Arguments in the case will begin on February 8 and the justices will hear it expeditiously. They will examine a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court that stated that by attempting to overturn Joe Biden's election victory and inciting the deadly Capitol assault on January 6, 2021, Trump engaged in insurrection and lost the right to run for president again.
