Resolves inquiries and transactions from Financial Reps and clients on basic and intermediate (semi-complex) level calls and transactions and is learning to become proficient in complex work. Researches and evaluates possible solutions to semi-complex problems that requires identifying root cause and some deviations from procedures Takes ownership of calls and begins to anticipate future issues to avoid repeat calls and unnecessary call transfers De-escalates client experience situations and applies skills learned in Effortless Experience training (CEB) to all situations. Serves as a trusted advocate for our Financial Representatives and partners with them to meet the needs of our clients. Embraces new technology, educates clients and Financial Representatives on our client website and self-service capabilities and understands risks and impacts that the transaction has on the client or policy. Embraces change by keeping an open mind to new ideas, and readily adjusts to new or changing processes. Embraces continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement. Fosters a professional relationship with our clients to enhance brand loyalty. Handles phone and transactional responsibilities while adhering to strict confidentiality and privacy standards. Multi-tasks between phone and casework/transactional duties with the high degree of accuracy and quality. Qualifications Associates degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1 year related customer service experience with proven customer service skills. Advanced knowledge of single risk product or process. Humbling.... - My prior Customer Service Representative got promoted to Accounts Receivables/Payables. I am in process of hiring the next CSR. The prior person had been doing both roles---but noted she hasn't been able to move the AR/AP as much as she'd like (and numbers show that) because its non stop phones - As Owner of the company, I decided to take all the calls today. Started at 8am. It's only 12:15pm. - WOW. I have learned a lot in 4.25 hours. This role isn't for the faint hearted. Much respect. -Granted we 99% of time have happy customers. I haven't had to deal with any of that today. But it is constant. No time to do anything else. Which that I am grateful. Busy phones= Revenue. -Lessons in 4.25 hours: 1) Don't give any key priorities to CSR--they are on the phone non stop. Minimal breaks for deep work. 2) Being cheerful is easy for me, but having 110% smile/cheerful/welcoming every minute causes a bit of fatigue 3) There is a lot of data input. Name, phone, email, how'd you hear about us, gate code for community, address, issue. 4) I can see how my Service Manager can't estimates out as fast as I thought he could do. He does get interrupted quite a bit from call transfers to schedule these inputs. 5) Humble yourself---try a role at the bottom ranks of your company.
