A day in the life of Rainforest Rescue Land Management and Nursery staff. It’s never boring around here – our on-the-ground team is always busy! As you can imagine, there are some challenges – tackling the tropical heat, torrential rain, bugs that bite, and plants that sting, just to name a few. But these challenges are far outweighed by the positive outcomes we are achieving for nature with your support. Our Land Management and Nursery staff spend their days collecting seeds, analysing data, observing weather, monitoring wildlife, propagating, planting, soil testing and so much more. Not to mention, their outdoor ‘office’ comes with views to die for 😍. Working in the Daintree isn't one of the easiest jobs due to the climate and the terrain here. But it's certainly one of the most rewarding ones! Get involved and let's plant more trees together: https://lnkd.in/gCuSyr-b The better time to plant a tree was 25 years ago. The best time is now.

International Zoo Consultant / Zoo & Safari Park project consultant / Zoo Director / Independent Zoo Auditor helping with most zoo problems, giving an unbiased report.
In a zoo or safari park, one of the “must have qualities” a Director or Operations manager needs, is not just the ability to build and inspire a great team that will help your park reach its vision and intended purpose, but also he/she must be able to hang on to that team. And one of the ways to hang on to your team is give them the freedom to produce great work, because it makes no sense to recruit staff with experience and skills and then micromanage their work. Micromanaging your team will only affect your team's morale and in the process create a very dysfunctional park to work in. When your park has the staff with the skills and experience to not just get the job done, but to get it done to a high level, you as the director need to give them the freedom to be creative and to be the very best version of themselves, while knowing that you are there in the background to support and guide them if they need help. When a director understands that they don't need to be the smartest person in the room, and allows their team to demonstrate their skills and experience, that team will then start to pull of great feats in their area of expertise, benefiting the park and those who work there. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬...𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞?🕵🏼 I recently saw a healthcare executive give a window into his framework for deciding where to move his family. Like many in healthcare where talent shortages abound and competition is stiff, he can write his ticket to go anywhere he wants. He created a spreadsheet with various weighted factors—some of the top include: 🏡 Home Availability 🌳 Trees and Open space 🏦 Tax Climate 🎒 Schools 🍽️ Restaurants 🚦 Traffic Dozens of others I've talked to have similar analyses to guide one of their life's biggest decisions. As a recruiter, I see it as my responsibility to be able to give an accurate "lay of the land," not just in the hiring organization culture but in key aspects of the local region. This kind of white-glove care isn't common but can make a huge difference in helping top talent decide to make a big move that includes relocation. Fortunately, I have a national network that allows me to get the "offline" scoop on what a region and its neighborhoods are like. In my backyard, the Greater Philadelphia Area, for example, many don't know that we're the Garden Capital of America with many great arboretums including Longwood Gardens, considered the finest public garden in the world. This means that, for many, strolling gardens and nature preserves are a regular part of a flourishing life. We're not placing people, we're guiding them into a good fit for them and their families for long-term success, at work and home.

New #Indigenous Job Alert: Program Manager, Land and Freshwater / Gestionnaire de programme, Terres et eaux intérieures Find this #job and more on Canada's strongest #Aboriginal Job Board https://lnkd.in/e44RppXU About the Organization The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society(www.cpaws.org) is a national charitable organization with 13 chapters across Canada, almost 100 staff, and hundreds of volunteers who have helped to protect over half a million square kilometers of Canada’s public land and water, since 1963. Our conservation vision is to protect at least half of Canada’s public land and water in a framework of reconciliation – for the benefit of both wildlife and humans. CPAWS National is based on the unceded and unsurrendered lands of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation and works in both unceded and treaty lands of First Nations, Métis and Inuit throughout the country known as Canada. CPAWS is committed to operating in a way that upholds justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). Our goal is to create an inclusive place for people from diverse backgrounds. About the Role The Manager for CPAWS National’s Land and Freshwater Program is a key member of our conservation team. You will report to the National Director for Conservation and will direct and manage staff on our land and freshwater conservation team. We are seeking a strategic thinker who has experience with project or campaign management, government relations and a deep understanding of Indigenous-led conservation. You will own projects and campaigns from beginning to end. This includes bringing your team together; developing the overall goals and strategies; then managing them through to their successful implementation. Because we are a small team, you will take on a range of responsibilities throughout this work. For our most complex campaigns you will focus on managing the project, while in other cases you may need to participate with content writing and other necessary tasks. This role requires high-level organization, adaptability, and a can-do attitude to ensure campaigns can adapt quickly to situations outside CPAWS’ control, while keeping a clear focus on the outcomes we are working to achieve. Responsibilities: 1. Program Management and Delivery (30%) a. Lead the development and manage the successful implementation of a range of CPAWS land and freshwater conservation projects and campaigns. b. Identify opportunities and strategic priorities for moving the conservation agenda forward in Canada. c. Writing and editing content for public and decision makers, including reports and communications materials. d. Seek opportunities to support CPAWS Chapters across Canada, as they work to protect 30% of Canada by 2030. e. Support national office efforts to advance Indigenous-led conservation. f.

Faith-based garage door company serving the greater Twin Cities market. What we sell is peace of mind!
Imagine hiring a single handyman to handle all the tasks within your four walls. Sounds absurd, right? You opt for specialists because you understand the importance of quality and expertise. But what about the outdoors? Research indicates that about 70% of potential customers won't step foot in your door if the curb appeal isn't inviting. Yet, we often entrust the outdoors to generalists. Is it because it's easier or are they experts in everything? Expecting the same person who mows your lawn and plows your snow to also be an agronomist isn't realistic. This approach can lead to poor first impressions, costing you significant revenue. So, why not consider hiring scientific specialists for your turf, tree, and shrub care? Enter TruGreen Commercial. We are trusted by over 500,000 commercial properties. We are the only provider who can directly service your locations from coast to coast, ensuring consistent results, pricing, and service. We offer nationwide reach and reliability, regional expertise, regular on-site property evaluations, fast proactive service, and innovative products and methods. Our commitment to the environment and your community is unwavering. So, why settle for less when you can have the best? Let's start a conversation about how TruGreen can help you create a lasting first impression that you are proud of.
