Exciting news from the deck of the North Purpose, one of the vessels that participated in the Maress Decarbonisation Campaign last year. We are thrilled to share that VPS will organize another Maress Decarbonisation Campaign in 2024. Get ready and get involved! We´re building on the remarkable achievements of last year, where the crews on 133 vessels across the globe from 8 companies joined forces, collectively slashing nearly 11,000 tons of CO2 emissions in just two months! Thanks to the participation of some of the world’s leading offshore vessel owners: Solstad Offshore ASA, Simon Møkster Shipping AS, Boskalis Offshore Energy, Rem Offshore, Tidewater, Skansi Offshore, North Sea Shipping, and DOF. This is an open invitation to forward-leaning companies who want to be part of this and collectively push the industry in the right direction. Reach out to us to sign up for this summer´s campaign, or to start a conversation on how to get involved. This year we´re aiming for even more vessels, broader geographic coverage and even bigger emission savings! A hairy goal – so let´s come together and make a real industry showcase of actual decarb impact through collaboration and smart use of data. This collaborative campaign sets sail in June, offering a friendly challenge to fleets worldwide. Part of the goal of the campaign is to get as much enthusiasm and involvement as possible – from participating crews, shore organisations, and others. The campaign offers an opportunity to put the limelight on the top performers out there, and stimulate sharing of best practices – within fleets, and across companies. No real downside risk at all. If you want to learn how your vessels can get involved, don't hesitate to reach out at [email protected] Let's embark on this journey together and make an even bigger impact this time around! PS: A big thanks to the crew on the North Purpose⛴️ for the video on featuring our VPS Key Account Manager Linda Stuberg👷🏻♀️ #decarbonisation #campaign #impact #offshorevessels #leadership

Dare to share! There´s a paradigm shift going on! When I came into maritime industry from other fields six years ago I was surprised by the limited data sharing in the value chain. Very few players were willing to share vessel/fleet emissions and efficiency data, and most companies kept all cards close to the chest. This has now turned 180 degrees in the #offshore sector, and the vessel owners are showing that the best in class are seeing it in everyone´s best interest to be as open as possible. It helps the industry at large in being more efficient, but at the same time it also directly benefits the individual companies daring to share - meeting stakeholder expectations about transparency and staying ahead of the curve wrt regulations. This kind of emissions data #transparency is a complete paradigm shift and a key enabler to reach the industry emission targets in time. Standing ovation from me to the vessel owners and crews participating in this campaign - for paving the way and daring to share. And also to my stellar colleagues here in VPS for making this campaign happen + creating an awesome visual collab tool. For the rest of us - check out the live campaign dashboards by clicking the link in the article below and see the current leaders in the campaign progress towards the campaign target of saving 15,000 tons of CO2! #daretoshare #systemsthinking #decarb Solstad Offshore ASA | Tidewater | Skansi Offshore | Maersk Supply Service | DOF Simon Møkster Shipping AS | Oceaneering | Rem Offshore | Olympic Subsea ASA | HAVILA SHIPPING ASA | Sanco shipping | Sea1 Offshore

Great session today with Plymouth and South Devon Freeport stakeholder forum discussing #netzero strategies. This Freeport has the added bonus of being within the context of the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and wider Maritime UK South West Ocean Technology cluster - a recipe for material positive change at pace! Key takeaways include the need to account for threats and opportunities across the E2E value chain, ashore and afloat - with enabling actions being critical to decarb success e.g. transport and logistics uplifts to avoid emission creation. As ever, skills and talent availability restraint are significant aspects to achieving target state e.g. for handling & use of alternative fuels, and technology development, deployment & operation. But the appetite for change is apparent #wecandothis #collaboration #decarbonisation #maritime #coastalpowerhouse

Bakker Sliedrecht has successfully implemented Energy Storage Systems (ESS) on two of Boskalis' Diving Support Vessels, the BOKA Atlantis and BOKA Da Vinci. This innovative technology has reduced fuel consumption and emissions by up to 20%, while also providing power and energy storage capabilities when the vessels are docked. The conversion of both vessels was completed in a record time at the Boskalis Service Center in Rotterdam. Bakker Sliedrecht's comprehensive scope of supply included a battery pack, power converter system, transformer, switchboard panels, and a sophisticated ESS control system with multiple functionalities. Andy Waterstreet, Project Director at Bakker Sliedrecht, highlighted the efficient execution of the project: "We managed to limit the downtime to less than 2 months, including comprehensive offline preparation and in-house testing." This project underscores the importance of innovation and collaboration in reducing environmental impact and enhancing efficiency in the maritime sector.
