Sequencing of circular RNA without enrichment or rRNA depletion / RNAse R treatment. After Human Genetics Society of Australasia - HGSA , I can see the power of long read sequencing to detect more isoforms! Cue the circular RNA biomarker scene

Circular RNA (circRNA) has a diverse range of biological functions, but there are difficulties when it comes to sequencing. New England Biolabs scientists developed a new method for sequencing that doesn't require conventional circRNA enrichment. Induro-RT mediated circRNA-sequencing (IMCR-seq) detected 1000-fold more isoforms than short-read RNA-sequencing and is capable of detecting circRNA larger than 7,000 nucleotides from samples as small as 10 ng total RNA. Currently, much remains unknown about RNA molecules, which are essential for cells to function! RNAs help make proteins and carry out many other biological tasks, with gaps in our knowledge about RNA limiting insights about the roles they play in health and disease.     Previous research has shown that RNA can be a key indicator of a person’s health and that RNA can be used as part of new treatments.
