At Voyager, we emphasize diversity through year-round events like workshops, trainings, guest speakers, and fundraisers to support the community. Because our focus isn’t just on one particular month, we hadn’t planned to change our logo for PRIDE. But, several employees told us that they appreciate our support of the LGBTQ+ community, that they feel safe to bring their authentic selves to work, and that they think our efforts are worthy of a PRIDE logo. So here it is. Happy PRIDE month, everyone. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eqyrarfu #teamwork #culture #DEI

I've been thinking a lot lately about the state of #DEI in the world. The current climate in both the political and HR landscapes (SHRM, specifically) has been making me nervous for the future of our workplaces. Getting to attend the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) conference here in Palm Springs a couple of weeks ago was such a breath of fresh air. Being around others who champion equity and inclusion gave me a lot more hope for the future of DEI. In my 20+ years in the workforce, I have experienced the benefits of collaborating with individuals whose backgrounds and/or motivations differ from mine. I have learned to think about things through different lenses...not just my own. I've learned that just because something doesn't affect me directly doesn't mean that I shouldn't speak out about it. Most importantly, I've learned what it means to be a true ally. Marginalized groups continue to be under attack by people who want to silence/erase us. People are inherently afraid of discomfort...of having their ways of thinking challenged. We need all of our allies now more than ever. To those of you who continue to stand and speak with us...we see you, and we thank you. The world is a better place when we are allowed to bring our differing perspectives together in pursuit of our common goals. #wednesday #musing #equity #inclusion #diversity #belonging #recruiting #recruitinglife #champion #ally #allyship #speakup #speakout #unicorns

With Pride Month just around the corner, it's important to think about our allyship at work (during Pride Month and every day and every month). Most of us like to think we are strong allies, but it is important to consider how we are demonstrating our allyship to others. An active ally is one who: 🏳️🌈 Takes action! It could be as simple as asking for different perspectives in your next team meeting. 🏳️🌈 Checks in. Ask the people you're trying to be an ally for what they need. 🏳️🌈 Knows progress is better than perfection. Small, regular and consistent acts of allyship can make a big difference. Here’s a tip from our expert, Dominic Taranto on how you can be an active ally: "Seek out the opinions of others who don't look or sound like you. Ask curious questions of others about how they might approach a problem and amplify the voices of those whose approaches differ from your own. In your next meeting, you could try something like: "Pav made a great point about this project. I'd love to hear more from him." Watch the video for more. And stay tuned for our 2024 Pride Guide dropping soon. #dei #inclusion #pridemonth #LGBTQIA+ #workplace #hr #humanresources #diversity

🔸️ Imagine being in a world where we all got along, agreed on the same thing, and synced on the same path. That would be ideal right? A utopia of no disagreements, no arguments, just smooth sailing day after day 🌄. 🔹️ The beauty about the world is everyone is different and unique, and with that comes different opinions & conflict 🤜🏾. 🔸️ I speak very openly about being gay 🏳️🌈. And working at Southwest Airlines has made me comfortable with being myself, and allowing me to showcase strengths I thought I never had my simply being me. A few months ago, I spoke in a webinar for a event I was very excited about. In the webinar I not only spoke about careers at Southwest, but how the company showed nothing but support for being a gay male. That recording made it’s way to a group that did not agree with it, and my video was posted on a platform mocking my sexuality, being used negatively, and has increasingly been gaining views 📈. 🔹️ The old me would focus my energy on that hate, and become anxious thinking “does everyone else feel this way about me”. However, instead of being bothered by those comments – accept the fact that everyone is not going to have the same likes or opinions as you – especially those who are behind a computer screen. And focus your energy on the ones that support you. I will not state the name of this group or where it is posted because I do not want it to gain more views or attention – but the support I received from leadership, and my very own as been nothing but supportive over this situation ❤️🙏❤️. 🔸️ The world can be a nasty place at times, especially when there are those that want to take time to spread negativity, even though all you are doing is simply spreading LUV. But when someone or a group tries to bring you down, remember the inner warrior inside of you and stay close to those who have your side 💪🏿. ✨️ Even though there can be a lot of hate in this world, there is also a lot of beauty, and I choose to focus only on that beauty. Sending positive vibes to you all this weekend ✨️. #diversity #motivation #socialsaturday #jobseekers #aviation #recruiter #motivation #recruiting #networking #letsconnect #opentowork #diversity #dei #lgbtq #socialmedia

Equity and inclusion is always front of my mind in my daily life, no more so than during Pride month. But what can you do when Pride Month is over? Turns out, there is a lot and you don't have to wait another 11 months to focus on #Pride and #Inclusion ☺️ As an ally, I've looked at how all of us can take meaningful actions to create an inclusive environment (anywhere, not just the workplace): 📖 Educate yourself on LGBTQI+ issues. 🗣️ Speak up against discrimination. ♥️ Use inclusive language. 🏳️🌈 Support LGBTQI+ initiatives. 📣 Be visible and vocal in your support. 👂 Listen and offer support. 🛡️ Promote a safe and inclusive workplace At Dimply, we recently reflected on our internal policies and introduced enhanced Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy, Social Value Policy, and "The One Dimply Way." 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐖𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 We’re over halfway through Pride Month for another year. Now is the time to reflect and remember that while Pride may be highlighted and celebrated once a year, our colleagues, friends, and family deserve to experience support all year round. Being an ally means taking meaningful actions to create an inclusive environment. Eoin O Shea, our Head of People & Culture, has shared some valuable ways you can be an ally: 📖 Educate yourself on LGBTQI+ issues. 🗣️ Speak up against discrimination. ❤️ Use inclusive language. 🏳️🌈 Support LGBTQI+ initiatives. 📣 Be visible and vocal in your support. 👂 Listen and offer support. 🛡️ Promote a safe and inclusive workplace. At Dimply, our commitment to inclusion is reflected in our newly developed and enhanced Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy, Social Value Policy, and "The One Dimply Way." To Value Better Allyship is to Value Authenticity Our Pride Month blog series has been devoted to celebrating LGBTQIA+ lived experiences and voices all year through our commitment to better allyship and, especially, to open conversations about our ongoing allyship journeys. Appropriately, the final article in our Pride Month series is an interview conducted by our intern Sophia Cole with our Director of Delivery Excellence Brian Cole. As both colleagues and family members, they’re in a great position to discuss the role of better allyship across professional, personal, home, and social spaces. The dialogue between Sophia and Brian reminds us that to share a community is to share the call to genuine allyship. We owe it to one another to come together and talk about how we define allyship, resolve to get better at it, and prepare to respond to misconceptions about the LGBTQIA+ community. Each of us can be a bridge to another’s authenticity, but only if our allyship prioritizes real safety, belonging, inclusivity, and openness. Let’s keep understanding our allyship journeys together: https://lnkd.in/efN5upAX #PrideMonth #LGBTQIAPlus #Allyship #Belonging #Inclusion

Ask people about diversity and their answers are, well, diverse. Gender. Race. Ethnicity. Faith. Sexual orientation. This, Celebrate Diversity Month, was started in 2004 following a campaign led by two American diversity consulting firms, ProGroup Inc. and Diversity Best Practices to highlight the urgency of understanding other cultures to ensure a better world. TPN Technical Artist and Interactive Developer Alberto Zamora (shown with his family) shares what it means to him... "Diversity, for me, is the capacity of see and treat everybody as an equal," he began. "To promote diversity, I just stop talking about diversity and simply treat everyone as equals." Alberto also says "When I talk about diversity, at that moment everyone turns around and begins to see their own differences and those of others, and it feels uncomfortable. For me, being different is so natural that it should not surprise us. Each grain of sand is different from the other, but when you zoom out and look at the entire universe, it looks the same in any direction. Being different as an individual means being equal in society." #CelebrateDiversity #DiversityMonth. #UnityInDiversity. #InclusiveSociety #DiverseVoices #CulturalDiversity #EqualityForAll #InclusionMatters #events #eventprofs #eventprofessionals #eventplanners #TPNevents

HOW TO OBSERVE CELEBRATE DIVERSITY MONTH Listen to people from other cultures Some of the world's most urgent problems stem from the fact that minorities tend to not feel as represented or as listened to as the majority. If you have colleagues or coworkers who feel like their concerns are not being heard, listen to what they have to say, and help them get their points across to those who have trouble listening. If we can foster more inclusive work or social environments, then we are one step closer to achieving global harmony. #DiversityMatters #InclusionForAll #CelebrateDiversity #UnityInDiversity #EmbraceDifferences #EqualityNow #DiverseWorld
