Please check this out. We had our son assessed very early on, we knew from experience, being Dyslexic parents, that he was likely to have the same struggles. It turned out to be a double edged sword for him at school. He knew he was smart (because we continually told him so) but many teachers did not. He was even accused of cheating because he preferred to work out problems in his head rather than write them down. I had many many many meetings with teachers trying to get them to understand him with only some success. But when they get it, they get it.
