⭐ This week we are supporting National Apprenticeship Week (5 to 11 February 2024)! In July last year, we welcomed Sam Bailey to Encore as part of his Level 4 Software Development Apprenticeship. He is currently working on the development of Project DIVERT Phase 2. In addition, we are researching two more apprenticeship partnership opportunities for members of staff excited to explore supply chain support for new sectors and sales and marketing! While the term ‘apprentice’ may conjure up a picture of a younger person embarking upon on-the-job training, the reality is very different. Apprenticeships are not limited to career starters, young people or practical work. Today’s apprenticeships span many ages and are linked to existing employees progression within in busnesses, developing the workforce even supporting individuals into senior management positions. Why apprenticeship in the financial sector would be so beneficial. But alas it is not very common. When someone starts in the financial world, they are often told to speak with family and friends to start. In other words, teethe on people who are closest to you. Wouldn’t it be wiser to junior/apprentice under a senior person who has already teethed, in fact their adult teeth are long in. Another term for this would be to be mentored. But so seldom is this done or forced upon a rookie. So to all those teething in the financial world, reach out to a senior advisor to learn the better way to do things. So to all the veterans, when a rookie reaches out, help them.

🌟 Today's workshop at the Apprenticeship Employment Network was an eye-opener! We delved into the true essence of '𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞', a concept often misunderstood. 🚫 Resilience is NOT about being able to deal with more and more crap (excuse my French 😊), accepting bad situations as the norm or settling for mediocrity. ✅ No, resilience is about developing our ability to successfully deal and even thrive during difficult & challenging times by taking control of: - What we focus on - How we think and feel - What we choose to do (or choose not to do!) - Taking ‘𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆-𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚’ (the 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 to choose our 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆) in relation to what is happening around us. Throughout the session, we did a deep dive into three key areas: 🎯 The power of focus 💭 Thinking, feeling, and doing well 🔒 Identifying what's within our control and what’s not 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭?
